Yeah I generally assume most of what people raise on the post-snap processing front is as much a byproduct of the OSU system + talent as much as anything. Still, worth noting that if those weaknesses were real, they wouldn't show themselves in a pre-draft workout setting

Here’s the thing about Ohio State’s passing game that I bring up every year.

Almost all the receivers have tags and option routes. If you like a matchup, you are maximally rewarded for holding the ball until a receiver makes a move or anticipating that receivers move. The reads are more about the coverage shell and anticipation of the receivers breaks for their coverage reads more so than a QB just reading strict routes and having to make it work.

Richardson is so goddamn funny. Someone is going to draft him and someone will get fired within a year for saying “well maybe he can catch” when there are some early teething problems.

Also Bryce Young do a workout challenge. If he breaks 4.7 at that weight I’m floored.

That still seems like a similar skillset under the umbrella of "processing". There also seems to be a lot of plays in the Georgia game where he appears to be doing conventional progression reads and throwing the ball decisively and quickly.

He's going to the Lions and he will blossom like a rose, in 2024.

Is this dude good at actual TE things or just loving fast? Because the Colts have been trying "draft absolute physical monsters at TE" for a while and it has not worked out at all. But I am certainly erectinterested in these numbers

Jelani Woods looked real good last year as a receiving threat, but the problem the Colts have is that Jack Doyle retired and they didn't replace him with anyone nearly as good at blocking.

If anything blame Ohio State for not showcasing decision making. Also, they said the same thing about Mahomes based on the Texas Tech offense and I think they said that about Justin Herbert too?

Diagnosing defenses is one thing, but if we’re going to throw processing speed in there I don’t know how you can possibly know that. He seems cool as a cucumber and maybe I’m just biased based on that, so I allow the possibility that I don’t know what I’m talking about which is pretty normal but you can’t teach ball placement and accuracy.

Zach Wilson looked great throwing too though

This is a really weird one to me. The 40 time was a mild surprise, but those things kinda happen they’ve gotten good at training guys but there isn’t a lot about him that screams “great agility and change of direction” for the position or in general.
