I have an idea to fix the broken banks that actually might generate money! hear me out:

  • nationalize failing banks
  • arrest bankers and c-level staff at those banks
  • charge $100 PPV to stream the banker's date with a guillotine

feedback welcome. thanks and g*d bless

if we nationalize the banks who will charge us the additional ~4% interest over fed prime rate to borrow the same money?

If this is what centrism has to offer, I'd consider fighting alongside someone like Le Pen and just hope to go for the stab in the back first.

Numbers only go up. They can briefly appear to go down, but thats just number readying itself to leap ever higher.

i mean, aren't they literally operated by the FDIC now? so yeah i'd say it's probably the safest bank in the entire US (which probably doesn't say much but still)

The 3rd Circuit panel said that while a salary is a fixed amount of compensation paid out at regular intervals, paid time off is a fringe benefit that has no effect on a worker's wages and can be paid irregularly, such as when an employee leaves a company.

New Jersey-based Bayada operates in 23 states and has about 28,000 employees. The company's lawyers did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Nor did lawyers for the plaintiffs.

A group of Bayada employees, including nurses, physical therapists and social workers, sued the company in Scranton, Pennsylvania federal court in 2016.

They said that because Bayada deducted PTO when employees did not reach a weekly productivity quota, they were paid based on how much they worked and were not salaried employees exempt from overtime pay under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Love our totally legitimate courts

Laws continue to not be real just lmao at this one. Find me a single loving person other than this judge in the country that doesn't consider PTO to be part of compensation. It's even required to be carried as a liability on the company books!

That's literally the law though? The FDIC's ability to guarantee anything past $250k requires a determination (i.e. a majority vote by The Fed) that a failure of the bank would constitute a systemic risk. You can think of it as another version of Too Big to Fail. What's changed is that the government policy now says "it's actually totally OK for the shareholders to lose everything", which wasn't the case in 2008 when they too were made whole.
