When I was in college a friend was a computer art major and after a bunch of us saw the Final Fantasy movie he was so excited yelling that it was the future of filmmaking and you wouldn’t need actors anymore just computer artists.

Folks, it might or might not be Friday today. What’s everyone’s weekend plans?

I am going to almost certainly listen to Scotland get embarrassed by Cyprus in the football on Saturday. So that'll be fun.

Going to be a wet weekend so I can't really see me doing much tbh. Probably just chill with a nice mug of tea and a book on the couch and some music on the stereo. Although now I think about it Gent Wevelgem is on Sunday so I might throw that on the telly in the background instead of music. Road cycling is a good sport for reading, seeing how it's long periods of little happening punctuated with short bursts of excitement.

I watched these horror movies that I really liked. Horror in the High Desert one and two. It’s going to be a series. The first one is like pretty good, it’s on Tubi, but I was really impressed with the sequel. It made me get up and make sure all the doors were locked at one creepy point.

I played FFIV as a child and was deeply traumatized by the two kids petrifying themselves. Never finished it.

Until recently. Then I found out the kids are fine and everyone who dies doesn’t except for the one old guy. Anyway, waste of a childhood, bullshit.

Hitman has some of the best level design I can think of, loved walking around all of those maps and just looking at stuff, exploring new areas

I wish I had the patience for stealth games because Hitman is clearly great, I love watching Vinny Caravella play those games. But I just do not have the brain for waiting for the clockwork elements to play out. I tend to just brute force action games

I mean, you CAN play it that way, the game allows you to basically approach it in whatever way you prefer. The new Freelancer mode also encourages or at least frees you up from feeling like you MUST be a perfect ghost silent assassin every time, which I've found oddly liberating even though I absolutely love going Silent Assassin on the story levels.

you can walk around and throw a brick at somebody wearing a uniform. swap to their clothes, drag them to a box and stuff them in it, and walk around other places and do that again to somebody else. you can spend hours on one map getting to the point where you instinctively know what you should do if you need to and it's still fun that way. i'm talking about the video game hit man
