Is Giphy from the period of approximately one week when everyone was making blog posts with animated gifs showing reactions for each paragraph or whatever people were briefly doing a few years ago? seriously though i've only ever seen it used in that way, where people want to do the action of posting a reaction gif but can't be assed to like, curate at all, so they just type some query and let giphy pick one for them, which is just so loving weird to me. it is something that seems to be very much focused on enabling the action and aesthetic of posting a gif rather than like, actual content or wanting to be funny or anything.
