I have to wonder if this is just another story wrinkle or is the next chapter the end of Kill Blue?

My Girlfriend Gives Me Goosebumps!: At this point, this is pretty much just extremely wholesome and sweet romance story and the whole Yandere bit comes up like once in a blue moon when author remembers. And I am absolutely not complaining.

It's really nice. Even falling which was a secret passion of his didn't get his heart racing. But his awesome girlfriend did.

As for her yandere tendencies. I don't think they ever left she just isn't always doing the more generic stuff like bugging his room or stalking his associates. But it has been consistent every chapter she says or does something that shows her obsession. Like this one where she basically says air means nothing when it comes to love.

Betting on another wrinkle.
Ice head gill, do retry and fabricant 100 are all rushing their endings.
MHAs also ready to just drop dead and witch watch may be heading towards a conclusion?

Unless they have some very promising replacements having all of these series end in the last third of the year is a bit much.

fabricant 100 already had an arc that completely looked like "oh its rushing towards an ending". this arc gives equally strong "oh its rushing towards an ending"-vibes, so while i do agree its probably ending... it might randomly just not and then go on into another "oh its rushing towards an ending"-arc

Perfect outcome in Akanebanashi, someone in here kinda called it too right?

Such a nice lil arc we just had.

Yeah, I take the "no yandere" thing back. I didn't notice the eyes of our dear MC on the final panel until I re-read the chapter. I guess we are having a Yandere switch instead. :v:

yeah narratively there's a lot more potential in Akane taking a loss here and having to emotionally build back up than otherwise, would have been kinda boring in a way if it hadn't happened sooner or later

I thought it'd be a tie, but I was right about the in-house vs stream rankings. Very satisfied with the outcome, genuinely my favorite thing in Jump right now.

I like Kill Blue a lot, but it would also be very funny for this to be how it ended. Just "Oh, you got better on your own, we were wrong" would be an incredible way to wrap up something cancelled early.

I'm also really digging MMA so far, hope this sticks around for a while.

Mikane and The Sea Woman: I still have no idea what kind of theme, or even genre this series wants to do.Supernatural Slice of Life? Psychological Drama? Romcom? Horror? Battle Shonen? There are hints for all of those in the two first chapter. Still, I remain curious about where this is going.

It says a lot about how many times I've seen the setup of someone at some coastal/island village encountering a mysterious and beautiful woman from the sea. That I'm surprised he wasn't dead by the end of the chapter. No idea either where it's going either but yeah, I get the horror vibes.

Yeah I think I'm fine with Akane Losing here. It sets Hikaru up as more of a rival for Akane to surpass.

Hikaru barely winning with Akane getting more recognition from the in person crowd/judges while Hikaru and her style working better streaming would set up a fun dichotomy between the two.

The first chapter felt like it was ten miles a minute, and the bit at the middle seemed like a weird way to get the plot started. Has potential, I guess, but could fall flat on its face with the premise.

Something just occurred to me here, both the girls who crushed the MC's dreams bringing them to broken tears are named Hikaru. Very different relationships though. Also, Arakawa-sensei is JACKED.

Never quacked for this
Like Detroit Become Human, it leans too heavily on bad scifi tropes to really hook me.
We live in a society where humans get attached to a roomba with googly eyes, property is more valuable than people and corporations will always reduce production costs, it's literally the opposite of the three primary factors that underpin the setting.

For me, the main issue was the main character. He's not very compelling, has a backstory that stretches disbelief to fit the needs of the plot exactly, and his ethical stances are bizarre, again feeling more driven by the needs of the plot than by anything about him as a person.

I saw comparisons to Fujimoto earlier in a general "there's more violent and grim works premiering now inspired in part by Fujimoto's success" way, but with Denji, Asa, and even Agni, you get why they do what they do. The actions fit the character. Here, it feels much less connected.

MarriageToxin: Yeah, obviously this whole thing wouldn't just end that smoothly. Still, it's good to see that Wind Users are absolute weirdos, as is usual for Specialists. The whole "strategies to counter the Poison User got leaked and are freely circulating the net" thing is pretty interesting and will probably make this battle far harder than it would be otherwise. I wonder what game is the Beast User sister playing.

I could honestly read Typhon just talking about anything for a long time. He's just the right amount of intensity and throws everything the MC (and by proxy most shonen protagonists) believes back at him. Once again, the villain has used the power of friendship in all the wrong ways. And it's finally time the main character realized he's crazy but now he has objective confirmation.

This arc is still cascading to a horrible tragedy but for a brief moment, things were very wholesome.

I doubt manga is ending. Instead, I believe the narrative is setting up a way for Juzo to transform back to an adult temporarily. I would guess that the cherry he ate that day would be the cause.

Shojo Null: Continues being comically edgy. The human are just absurdly evil and while the director of the "play" is the most obvious example this chapter, for me the highlight was the police chief being all "idgaf that my son just died and my home burned down, WE GOTTA FIND AND MURDER ALL THE REBELS :kheldragar:". People are saying this is inspired by Fujimoto's works, but all I can see is Elfen Lied v.2

Mikane and The Sea Woman: I already noticed it the last chapter, but I really like how the authors draws expressions. Each time the mermaid smiles, almost her entire vibe changes completely and it's really neat! The story is still very obviously in prologue and I am still not sure where this is going, but I kinda like it so far.

I mean I know it is set in Japan but "A police chief literally does not care about his family, he's more interested in racism and murder" seems entirely reasonable from an American point of view.

I POSTED WHAT NOW!?
I’m getting big “Detroit” vibes from Shojo Null where the author is turning a dial that says “Racism” and looking back for approval.

I think what really rubs me the wrong way is that the author doesn’t trust the audience (in both those cases) that they can be a bit more subtle about how the robots are treated to show how things are messed up but it’s always the glaringly obvious stupid things like “THE ROBUTS CAN BE HARMED AND PEOPLE DON’T CARE” just dial it down and people will still figure it out. It’s almost making me miss stories like Chobits where the big worry was “How can we stop ourselves from loving the robots? Cause we can make very sexy robots”
