It's funny how badly it's working too, like nobody is on the CEOs side. They genuinely do not seem to understand that we've been able to see all the stuff they're saying, like driving the WGA into homelessness and nobody is shouting at the writers and actors to get back to work because we've all got a lot of content to keep us going for ages.

This, but specifically American CEO's. If logic was the only thing that mattered, most unions demands would probably be met. But you have a bunch of people on top who really really really don't like being told what to do so much that they'll actively burn their staff and finances to not cede any ground.

Strike is probably gonna go on for awhile, and wouldn't be surprised if it takes some sort of HUGE action to get the studio's to cave. Like everyone-cancels-their-netflix-subscription level thing, which, unfortunately is probably pretty unrealistic.

At least happy that this is doing well enough that even if it couldn't start filming for another six-twelve months, it'd still make sense to make more of it. Not like it's relying on kid actors or anything.

I forget the exact details but there was some German company that wanted to take over a huge plant in America in the last few years and it was going to pump huge amounts of money into the state, create thousands of jobs etc. The Germans wanted to meet with the union, were told they didn't need to, insisted that it's actually incredibly more efficient and easier to have a union to deal with and if there wasn't a union they thought one should be made, and the response from the State Government was,"Good news, we took onboard what you said and went away and drafted up legislation making it literally illegal to be in a union! Problem solved forever!"

The Germans agreed and.... went to another State with a union and put the plant there.

Oh wait, this checks out. It's so weird that "libertarian" sometimes gets used to mean "anarchist" in non-American contexts.

Luffy definitely has anarchist tendencies. He gets mad at people in power abusing that power and stands up for people who are being oppressed. To the original point- if he saw workers trying to unionize for fair working conditions and bosses trying to stop them, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't take the side of the bosses.
