You know I just realized I've never actually bought Stardew itself. Is Steam the best platform to buy through?

missed this but I'd say steam just for mod support, for sure. There's a mod for just about everything if a certain aspect of the game bothers you, you can change it.

Otherwise anything is a good choice, switch could be fun just to bang out a few days etc

Hmm modding in red pandas is pretty tempting. Or maybe Llamas. Does the base game have llamas?

I played Stardew as a chill game where I didn't worry about seeing everything or getting everything right. Just go catch some fish, grow some crops suboptimally, take the day off to go collect pine cones in the woods, chat with people and give them homemade jam. Every now and then I would look at the Stardew Valley wiki to figure something out and it was filled with spreadsheets of how you can optimize every square foot of your house to become a billionaire by making the most efficient cider. I never even bothered installing a sprinkler lol

abigail, haley, elliot and sebastian are all top tier marriage candidates. i dont really bother with anyone else.. but i like shanes friendship events a lot. anyway you play stardew valley to make your farm look pretty and slowly fill out the town hall and befriend everyone and not care about the evaluation and you have a good time. i should start another farm soon :cabot:

My biggest takeaway from chill game chat has been that A Short Hike is under ten dollars on the switch right now and I am definitely getting it next pay period.

Like the people who grind cards in ff8 after getting Ifrit until they have enough (plus a spare) to fully load out their team w/junctions + do everything that can be done later in the game wsaid items. Not necessarily what I'd choose but I respect the hustle.

my wifes gaming group do a stardew valley farm once every few months and i bought it on steam and tried to play with them and it was a carefully planned and spreadsheeted experience that absolutely was at odds with my aims in the game so i wound up just going fishing every single day for the entire time

I don't think you'll have a lot else left to do on the second playthrough. Mine was 175 hours, and I pretty much completed all side-quests, I'm pretty sure. On the other hand, I never do 'evil' playthroughs, so I'm just not super interested in getting the Drow lady instead of Halsin or playing as a Bhaal's Chosen.

Yeah that's also my problem, I feel like I would struggle to make any decisions substantively different to the ones I already made, so how much do I want to see the stuff I know I didn't see? I dunno,
