We went almost all of September without rain. We are now going to get all of Octobers entire rainfall in 2 days. Also temperatures went from 35C to 7C in like 48 hours. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian anime watchers. Happy weekend to the rest of you.

My joke meta reading of is that Kamiyama was commenting on nostalgia (which is a subtext of the show) by intentionally making 2045 a pale imitation of the original. There are a number of parallels, and it even repeats the weird hacker boy with a book trope, except this time the book is 1984 (like, isn't that what you'd choose if you were making a parody?)

Finished watching Blue Giant at the theater. Fantastic movie, especially if you're into jazz. I would highly recommend it. It's definitely going to be my AOTY. Obviously the music is the star of the show, but tons of fun and stylish animation flourishes throughout the musical performances, taking place in a grounded, realistic story with some simple but strong character writing throughout.
