I've actually started running across a reverse problem where the smaller packages for things I like are gone so you can only buy the big ones at a greater price. Sometimes you don't need a big package but you're stuck buying them because it's the only one they have.

I know the Canadian dollar sucks, but even with exchange rate Rightstuf used to be better for my dollar to order my anime. Crunchyroll store is…very much not. They’re consistently 5-10$ more than Amazon. They’re the only way I can get Discotek titles though, so guess I’ll use them to make big Discotek and other niche stuff orders and buy CR shows on Amazon because it’s cheaper. This makes no freaking sense but that’s capitalism.

My favorite story about Crunchyroll being garbage about unions is that Adult Swim wanted the dub of Fena Pirate Princess to be union, even offering to foot the entire bill for the extra expense, but Crunchyroll as the co-producer threw such a tantrum about it that AS threw up their hands and gave up. I'm relatively sure the entire reason the Witch from Mercury dub was recorded by Crunchyroll rather than being produced by Bandai is that Bandai had to offer it to Crunchyroll so they could use their typical union UC cast for the dub of Cucuruz Doan's Island.

I do hope that Bandai continues to use NYAV Post for their UC Gundam series. Much as I'm a fan of Ocean Group NYAV really has dished out the best Gundam dubs. Hathaway being a Netflix deal rather than Crunchyroll gives me hope that they'll at least keep the dub consistent whenever they finish the other two films. Personal beef with Crunchyroll is how bad they are at properly crediting actors. You're lucky if they promote their lead voices and then it's a guessing game across VA Twitter accounts announcing the roles they're playing, the dubbing Wiki, IMDB or Behind the Voice Actors pages to try and stitch together a full cast.
