I was worried that Coby would capture Boa off-panel to show how strong he'd become post timeskip. Instead, she wrecked his poo poo but also there were Blackbeard shenanigans. Then, just when I thought that pink-haired nerd was gonna end up a chump, he punches the arm of an island off. I love this series.

given that dragons a marine doesnt that give more credence to the theory that hes the guy with the 4th poneglyph - dark boat - "works for the wg" - can make whirlwinds in the ocean with a df power the only things that dont really add up is the timeline on all of these is never at the same time

Like gently caress can you imagine losing all your friends and feeling responsible for it because you were the one in charge (because the former guy in charge left the boat to prevent infecting everyone with an deadly virus) and then you're stuck alone at sea for 50 years with nothing but the corpses of your friends around you. The maddening loneliness, the terror of being left adrift, the memories (which are really the only thing you have left at that point), and the despair that you can't keep your promise to a friend who you know is waiting for you. And then some bitch comes and steals your fuckin' shadow and kills your chances of ever heading out to sunlight and seeing your last living friend who you promised to come back to. No wonder Brook's so loopy, half a century of that poo poo would drive anyone mad. Even Franky was like, "drat, I would just loving kill myself at that point" and Franky's not some quitter, he's the guy who was determined enough to rebuild himself as a cyborg when he was near death after being run over by a train.

For all the talk about Oda never forgetting things there sure are some glaring omissions. Sogeking is just one, but remember that Lucy guy? Suddenly there's this awesome bearded gladiator dude tearing poo poo up and he just up and disappears and is never brought up again? What the gently caress Oda, that guy was rad

There's also the immediate comparison with Law vs Blackbeard. Law fought Blackbeard plus Burgess, Lafitte and Doc Q and while he lost it's clear that he got some good hits in based on Blackbeard's wounds at the conclusion of the fight. Plus his squad actually had a working game plan of using their sea-specialist nature to target BB's ship while Law while facing them on land. Meanwhile Kidd (and Killer) get OHKO'd by Shanks due to his masterful strategy of 'Shoot my big cannon at the weaklings who can't meaningfully fight back'

Kid was 2 seconds from wiping the Red Hair fleet so Shanks went right to Gear 5th Island Sized Fist level of attack, Kid tanked hits from Big Mam with no issue so anything less wouldn’t have worked. But then Shanks needed help to wreck their ship, something Zoro can do in his sleep. Why didn’t he just swing his sword twice? Probably can’t.

I mean Shanks could've, but his intent was just to a) stop Kidd from killing his fleet and b) teach Kidd not to be a poo poo. He didn't really need to destroy Kidd's crew once the lesson was taught. Also, letting Drory and Broggy land the finishing blow is good because it preserves their dignity and lets Elbaf do its part in defending itself. Kidd's canon was aimed at the fleet and Elbaf was behind the fleet, and by attacking, Kidd was implicitly picking a fight with Elbaf too. Elbaf are very big on honor, letting someone else fight your battles for you probably doesn't sit well with them.
