Something feels symbolic about the Pochita sequence starting with Denji stepping on a dead(?) corvid--that was Makima's calling-card, wasn't it? I'm not sure what it's symbolic of, but it stood out to me. Thinking about it, if Conquest is corvids and War is potoos, I want Fami and Death to have bird symbols. Fami should be a vulture, obviously. Death can be...oh, I know! Chickens! Also, think we might be about to find out how to permakill a hybrid

What if the "Chicken Devil" already was one of these, and it was Famine, kicking off the whole plot to supercharge War? There's some symbolism in a deceased but inedible bird devil for Famine.

this owns ("owns") and I hope it sticks. I'd begrudgingly accept it if meowy survived, which I expect will be the case, but would truthfully be far more impressed if that wasn't the case. we'd rather thoroughly set the table on the normal life stuff and it was starting to grow stale, and I think this is a good resolution of it, particularly if it gets us to the more interesting questions behind that question. e: like a lot of denji's part 2 to date has been a portrait of him willfully repressing his personal emotional revelations from the end of part I because he felt vulnerable and precarious due to having to care for the pets and Nayuta. now Nayuta is surely no longer interested in anything approaching normality and he has nothing else left to lose, and pochita showed up and almost literally restated his part I revelation. it's time!
