watched the tokimeki memorial ova last night and it might be one of the most fascinating tie-in movie things i've ever watched, for how it's so dedicated to game-accurately depicting the end of a perfect run of the game with literally everyone in school talking about this one boy they all like who they go on dates with all the time, without ever saying his name or showing his face so at the end when everyone but shiori realizes he's not actually going for them they all enter a state of despair and dramatically tell shiori it's all up to her now. except rei who just exists for an insane gag about how they have a pmc they keep stationed outside their mansion during christmas parties to deter men from entering without following dress code. also a part right towards the end where yoshio tries to hit on himoo and utterly bombs, just before she builds a giant death robot that gets destroyed from the sheer impact of the player not wanting to hook up with her

Got into a neat conversation yesterday about tracking the influence of Kenji Kawai's Ghost in the Shell soundtrack. Going by the choir elements of the main title, you can hear similar sounds in Hajime Mizoguchi's score for Jin-Roh, the next Oshii/Okiura joint. Mizoguchi was married to Yoko Kanno at the time and she sings that film's main theme song under her Gabriela Robin pseudonym. Then Kanno does the Turn A Gundam score a year later and those same choir elements pop up again, and then again in Ghost in the Shell SAC after that, bringing it full circle. It's like poetry, you know, it rhymes.

I'm hom. they said there was some bruising in there, and there was 1 (one) polyp that they excised and sent for testing. They told me I shouldn't worry about it. follow up appointment in 3 weeks.
