FF Legend is win but also classic in the way that you can kind of permanently gently caress up your party. Just played this last year and had a blast. Good pick.

the ffl games are very cool but a major failing of the original English release is that the translation is one of those super-stilted jobs you'd get in the early days, to the extent when you pick up an item you're not always sure exactly what it is I've wanted to play the fan translation of the Wonderswan remake forever, so that's my plan

Mutant stats in SaGa 1 go up randomly, in 2 you can cast spells exclusively to pump mana or swing a whip to raise agility but in 1 I don't know if there's any connection between your actions and your stat gains.
