I saw this quote online and after watching multiple Lynch projects I have to agree lol

When you start watching lynch you think its all nonsense.

Then you watch more and start thinking that its super deep.

And then after a while you go back to thinking its just nonsense

Lynch doing weather reports where he'd loudly announce,"Today the weather will be...." and then pause to look out the window before saying what the weather was like was a great gift the world didn't deserve.

oh my god lol...a pivotal plot point in Gladiator is his character making the villain break his hand by punching his forehead lol

Lol I got halfway through the pilot so far. I thought that James guy was doing some incredible acting in the classroom scene when they first hear about Laura but I guess he stinks

The real shocking twist about twin peaks is that it’s mostly just a normal show with a few surreal scenes here and there but it’s David lunch so you have to pretend it’s all really kooky

this is actually true. I'm kinda shocked by how much is just a normal show. It's a lot more understandable than I thought it would be

I haven’t watched the whole series again so I have to assume he’s fine episode 1 and then becomes increasingly more and more grating. But, I also have friends who are James diehards so it’s all subjective!

Pretty reductive description. Swery, while an imperfect writer, is smart, empathetic, and funny. Tommy Wiseau is egomaniacal and doesn't know what the hell he's doing as an artist. Swery does, and much of the surreal humor is completely intentional, and his works contain a lot of high camp. While the game was always outdated and the combat and environments are rough, it's the ports that make it especially buggy and messy and where it got a lot of its reputation. Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious flipping a car or watching things drive through buildings and the car controls and combat are bad, but the actual story and characters are phenomenal. Swery's other works are similar.

Uh, yeah? It's only one of the big central mysteries of the show. While it was never meant to be revealed in its original conception nor the "point" of the show, it's still a major plot beat that by the time you watch Fire Walk With Me is a huge connecting point that is pivotal to the emotional center of the series.
