I have all the Fontanelles' tracks from the Hobgoblins soundtrack in my music library, they range from decent to awesome. You really can't go wrong with a song called Hayride to Hell, and yes I did spend my teens hanging out by the Hot Topic

Wow I also always thought it was just made up for that movie.

I guess in the 70s you really could take an abstract concept like shining your love and just run with it.

I swear that the Scotsman is like Skydivers briefly intersects with someone else's movie, like that moment in Cloverfield when the camera briefly shows another group filming their story.

Except the other is probably a hilarious fish out of water movie

I don't recall if there was any official word; my guess is that it was probably them experimenting with various aspects of the show in the early days. Similar to how they gave Servo a "fade" (i.e., the clear cylinder instead of the globe for his head), or tried tinting the color of the silhouette in the theater (IIRC, there was some discussion as to whether the silhouette "read" better against older black and white movies if it was tinged a slightly different color).

I'd forgotten that it sets up Frank's song "If Chauffeurs Ruled The World."

It's not "Nummy Muffin Coo-Coo Butter," but that was lightning in a bottle.

I think they really missed an opportunity by not having the Gizmoplex be a streaming service for curated bad movie content in addition to hosting MST3K. Sometimes Netflix will have stuff, but it's pretty sparse and difficult to find. Prime has a lot but most of it is shockingly poor quality (both the quality of the transfers and the movies).
