I'm sure the strip itself is well known, as it's been referenced in several anime and manga (kaori from your lie in april quotes directly from the strip at points, the art style shift to peanuts in kaguya).

I grew up in a household that had no attachment to peanuts in anyway The setting and all of it had no parallels to my childhood. Calvin and Hobbes was much much more similar to my growing up Garfield was ok
