I've seen the tile guy do a project of that scope in the newly built house, 500 sq ft bathroom,10 food cathedral ceiling, culminating over the toilet and the tall skinny stain glass window. Walls, floors and ceilings, all tile. It took him several months and he charged something like 60k. It was tacky, but like Russian Orthodox Church tacky, not this. I'm sending him those photos, and will report back on what he has to say.

That patio door glides open very easily. It's the opposite of crappy construction.

I get that professors can be pretty clueless about real world knowledge, but how does someone get it that wrong? Just assume ground and neutral mean the same thing, so white goes to the ground stud on outlets. Then you need opposing main legs for the terminals on the outlet? I took a terribly taught electricity class in high school that covered basic wiring enough to know what hot, neutral, and ground were.

China really taking the "mysteriously fell out of a window" back from oligarchs and putting it back in the hands of the people.

Still, that door opens extremely smoothly as the other poster mentioned. It's not the Crappy Design thread! Clearly the Chinese are beginning to properly appreciate Lüften.

The crappy construction is they built the patio slightly (60+ feet) too low, so there's a bit of a bump going back in. Measure twice, cut once.

That picture is making me feel a lot better about the lovely job I did resealing around a window. Two sides reasonable, one side poor and of course that's the most visible one. I loving hate using silicone.
