I like the Tom Waits Satan in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

He's got a very charming Old Timey "Old Scratch" feel while still just basically playing himself.

Seriously, Satan shouldn’t enjoy his job as much as he does in most of these movies. That was kind of Milton’s whole point.

Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy kinda fits this vibe and he's another favorite of mine.

Pacino Satan is just so much fun. I love his monologue about the new millennium belonging to him thanks to pollution and greed while Jeffrey Jones is being chased by demons in central park. I was delighted to learn that the monologues were written by Tony Gilroy.

Also, still shaking my head in sad bafflement at the lack of enthusiasm for the film Matilda The Musical. It’s no Paddington but it’s at Shaun the Sheep (first film) level.

Viggo Mortenson in The Prophecy is up there for me for movie Satans. I don't typically find the devil scary in movies but Mortenson manages to come across as pretty spooky. For a more fun loving Lucifer I like Tom Waits in Doctor Parnassus.

As for a couple of actors who I think would do a good job in the role: Jake Gyllenhaal or Stephen Root.

I'm not 100% I'll watch it. But I might. I really like the now trope. (500) Days of Summer slapped. In the parlance of the previous generation of kids. Seems we're getting three further 28DL sequals all set twenty-eight years after the outbreak. I'm glad. Don't get me wrong. But why is he skipping months, and neglecting centuries?

(Real talk I'd definitely be interested in three different 28 Months Later movies that are seperate and not a trilogy.)

Speaking of a movie set centuries earlier it'd be cool to see a world that reset to caveman days after something like a zombie outbreak has killed most everyone off and our material culture given back to nature. Then they make advances very slowly.

But this time their technological advancements don't follow the same course that ours did at all. They invent the wheel on the same day they harness electricity. Gas-powered vehicles are invented but gunpowder still hasn't been discovered so wars are fought by tanks ramming into each other and using flippers like on that robot battle show.

Well, it might just happen irl, but I wouldn't be around to see it.
