We'll always have Cabo
I know it’s early and they haven’t played a great team yet but it’s nice to see the Yankees have an offense again

They have gotten absolutely nothing out of C and 2B too. Pretty pretty good.

No, it's much worse. TJ surgery sucks but pitchers usually come back from it. Shoulder surgery is more often career ending. Hopefully it doesn't come to that but I'd much rather hear "elbow tightness" than "shoulder inflammation"

How many pitchers have ever had a serious shoulder surgery and come back to pitch effectively for even like 3+ years afterward?

I think I remember hearing Tanaka did, but I can't find anything about shoulder surgery for him, just that he had Shoulder Soreness issues once upon a time

I mean, there’s a chance this is a phantom IL for load management. Skip a few Miller turns while Glasnow and Paxton are healthy? Seems reasonable.

Roger Clemens pitched almost his entire MLB career with a surgically repaired shoulder, but he's practically the exception that proves the rule.

Apparently his velo was noticeably down, so if so, full marks to him for selling it all the way by pitching batting practice to the Cubs.

Orel Hershiser came back from major rotator cuff surgery that wiped out a full season and pitched almost another decade. He was nowhere near the pitcher he had been but it was still an impressive comeback from what is normally a career ending surgery. But we're going back 30+ years here, which kind of illustrates how scary shoulder injuries are, way more so than elbow injuries.

No one goes on the phantom IL with shoulder inflammation, it’d be less specific “fatigue” or something like that

good to see morel making cool defensive plays, it would be pretty sweet if i didn't have a minor heart attack every time he made a routine throw to first. of course that also assumes michael busch can catch it!

Another spring commute
You can tell that the thing they're drilling into Morel about his 3B throws is to come over the top instead of throwing a side-arm sinker, because now when he throws to 1B he cocks his throwing arm straight up to the sky before following through.

The sad thing is that the guy he should replace in the rotation right now is probably Hendricks.

Before the season started, Chicagoans were trying to guess if the combined Cubs + White Sox win total would be over or under 150 wins for the season.
