First of all, thank you to everyone who participated. Without any of you there would be nothing here. NBA Finals: Heat vs Spurs Result: Spurs in 5 Well, I don't need to describe how stunned the world is. The picks themselves show it. Only four people out of 44 dared to believe the Spurs could close out the two time defending champion in 5 games and they were Kaebora, Juaguocio, spacejung, and Geriatric Pirate. 25 other people picked the Spurs to win it. 14 other people picked the Heat and they will receive zero points for it. And with that comes the first award of the evening, The Kawhi Leonard award which goes to... TheFallenEvincar!! He, along with everyone else, was told to bring his A game to play and he did with these fantastic picks at the final round of the pickoffs, TheFallenEvincar posted:Spurs vs Heat: Spurs in 7 Truly amazing. For that TheFallenEvincar wins the important Kawhi Leonard award. Here are the results of the final round sans bonuses: code:

Game 1 Most people believed the Spurs would take Game 1 from Miami, following the pattern of a lethagic Heat at the start of series. They were right. 38 people picked the Spurs for Game 1 of the series and 11 of them picked them to win by a blowout. Game 2 Here there is a sudden surge in Heat picks. And they were right, 14 picked the Heat and 11 picked them to win by a close game. Game 3 Now people have completely turned to the Heat in Game 3. Maybe they believed the Heat would prevail at home, that they would have their switch flipped by now. By who? God maybe. LeBron James was no god that night as the Spurs devoured the Heat from start to finish. 11 Texas faithful picked the Spurs and 4 picked it to be a blowout, which is the polite term for the rear end whipping they gave. Game 4 A few more people picked the Spurs for Game 4, surely they won't be stunned by Heat again right. Popovich will find a way to bounce back in Game 4. No, no they wouldn't, because they had nothing bounce back from. 18 picked the Spurs and 3 picked it to be a blowout. Game 5 For over 80% of the people who picked they believed the series would extended to 6 or 7. Game 5 is just an intermediate. So they chose the home team as favorite. 38 picked the Spurs to win Game 5 with 9 predicting a blowout. Of the four people who predicted the Spurs would win the series in 5, only spacejung correctly predicted the series would end in a Spurs blowout. Now for the second award of the night, the Tommy Heinsohn award, which goes to... Spacebump! For coming in second place. If you had put aside your emotions about the Spurs you might have been the SAS Pick King. Congratulations, your love towards to a German has made you become associated with a terrible, terrible announcer.

Here is now the leaderboard for the total points of all four rounds, excluding the bonus points:code:
nagel!!!! nagel lead the game in points for the first three rounds and when the time came to come up big he failed, he failed at the brightest, most important moment of the year, of all time. Congratulations, you are terrible and you made me cry and I hate you. Finally, the winner of the SAS NBA Playoff Picks King of 2014 is... ... ... Geriatric Pirate!!!! Geriatric Pirate finished well ahead of the pack by three points, dominating his competition with his mastery of the bonus predictions. Does the newly crowned king have any words to say? Right. Once again thank you to everyone who played. I hope you all enjoyed this and come back next year. Good night from New York; This has been the SAS 2014 NBA Playoff Picks. code:

I'm pretty pleased with my results considering how many gimmick picks I made. Also the Spurs winning, that is also pleasing.

The John Starks Awards, I'm extremely moved. Feels like I definitely deserved that one. I'm curious about Geriatric space pirate, on the account of this nice red title, where he's from? Was this an international affair, mimicking the Spurs? Myself I'm Swedish and mostly pick up basketball stuff from SAS.

Spurs dropped game 2 like scrubs so I didn't get my spurs in 4 pick. I wasn't cocky enough to pick any blowouts and got too nostalgic and picked Timmy for MVP.

Thanks Vanilla Mint Ice that was a cool game. As the most accurate Finals picker* I would like to present you with the Shane Battier award for being a true credit to the game and working harder than anyone else at the expense of your own personal numbers. *sort of
