B'nai Brith Canada is going to release their data about how antisemitic Canada is on Monday. Featuring such wonderful vocal support from disgraced former minister Marco Mendicino, the Conservative's top Karen-in-Charge Melissa Lantsman and accused rapist Kevin Vuong.

Can't wait to hear how Canadian Universities are a breeding ground for hatred and the pro Palestine marches every weekend in Ottawa are a training camp for extremists.

loving desert camo too, just fully embracing our role as American Auxiliaries.

Real talk, I joined to be a peacekeeper, the complete reimagining of our armed forces as an expeditionary force to aid America's Middle East policies really saddens me. Yes, I know I was naive, and yes I know many peacekeeping missions were deeply flawed, or just outright bad, but at least as a national project it aspired to some kind of ideal worth serving.

In the early-2000s, Luciuk received  a phone call from someone at the National Library and Archives in Ottawa warning him that a member of the Ukrainian Communist Party was in charge of the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kiev.

Luciuk said this meant that the nationalist archives were at risk. “She might not destroy them physically, but she’ll put them in a part of the archive where no one will ever see them again,” he said.

He boasted that he went to Kiev and returned with 300,000 documents from the archives on a USB stick.

“I can't explain exactly how I did it. It was not entirely legal, and it had something to do with honey,” Luciuk said.

A group of single vegans who paid to attend a dating event facilitated by Samuels basically stood around in the back of the room, Shea recalled. One of them told me he took them out for a walk or tour.

Ruscsak said she observed Samuels in four different altercations with different people.

And of course:

Last month, Samuels gave a presentation to Charlottetown City Council as the head of a consortium looking to build a 25,000 seat football stadium to bring a CFL expansion team to Prince Edward Island, despite Samuels having no discernible connection to PEI.

Samuels plan was endorsed in principle by Charlottetowns Chamber of Commerce. One city councillor has proposed a trial game to test support for Samuels idea.

TORONTO - TD Bank Group could be hit with more severe penalties than previously expected, says a banking analyst, after a report that the investigation it faces in the U.S. is tied to laundering illicit fentanyl profits.

National Bank analyst Gabriel Dechaine said in a note that the worst-case scenario of the multiple U.S. investigations TD faces needs reassessing after the Wall Street Journal reported the link on Thursday.

The newspaper said the U.S. Justice Department investigation is focused on how Chinese drug traffickers allegedly used TD to launder at least US$653 million, and bribed TD employees to do so.

TD did not directly confirm the report, but said its anti-money laundering defences had been deficient.

Criminals relentlessly target financial institutions to launder money and TD has a responsibility and an obligation to thwart their illegal activity, said chief executive Bharat Masrani in a late Friday statement.

I regret that there were serious instances where the banks AML program fell short and did not effectively monitor, detect, report or respond. This is unacceptable and not in line with our values.

The bank said a comprehensive overhaul of its program is well underway, with over $500 million already spent in program remediation and platform enhancements.

The severity of the allegations means TD could not only face fines well above the $500 million to $1 billion that many investors have anticipated, but also more severe regulator-imposed limitations on its business activities, said Dechaine.

We believe investors need to put greater weight on worst-case scenarios for the stock, he said in a note.

The cumulative fines could easily hit $2 billion, while regulators could put in place restrictions, including limits on its balance sheet growth, that could affect bank operations for years, said Dechaine.

In a worst-case scenario, the issue could erode TDs future earnings potential by more than $1 billion, he said, and he has dropped his price target for the banks TSX-listed shares by almost nine per cent to $84.

The link to drug trafficking comes the same week TD announced it had taken an initial provision of US$450 million in connection to the ongoing U.S. regulatory inquiry into its anti-money laundering compliance program.

The bank said on Tuesday its discussions with three U.S. regulators and the Department of Justice are ongoing, and it anticipates additional financial penalties.

Separately, Canadas financial-crime watchdog Fintrac levied a $9.2-million penalty against the bank on Thursday for non-compliance with money laundering and terrorist financing measures.

TD Banks stock price fell almost six per cent to $74.80 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The worst case scenario would actually be if nobody goes to jail over this and TD avoids serious consequences but sure, phrase it how you want.

Also lol that Canada's levying under $10M in fines while the US is contemplating $1B but I suppose this was all on the US side and the patriotic Canadian bankers are totally above board.

Major art collections are pulling out of the country because we have literally zero enforcement on art crime. There are literally two cops in the country dedicated to it, both in Quebec, and the RCMP has said they won't investigate because it would require them to take on an estimated 5000 cases.

Our cops are all meatheads that only know how to beat on homeless. My buddies business got robbed by a team of guys with pick-up trucks, the cops looked at the footage and said "homeless did it, not investigating." Wouldn't shock me if they were out there robbing people.
