Idk about that, it seems like his natural frequency of output just doesn't jive with the format of HAVING to produce something every week. Doing the Ballet cold open when they were guaranteed to have the most new eyeballs on the show because of the Taylor Swift/Ice Spice/Matty Healy controversy was one of the funniest high concept bits I've ever seen, but that kind of spontaneous pressure to come up with something isn't gonna happen every week

The guy's job is literally just to show up twice a week for 1-2 hours on a zoom call, and he still missed at least like 1/3 of the time until Matt's indefinite hiatus (where he at least shows up...usually). And he's sorta aware of this, but also obviously feels great pride in the rare occasions that he actually does some work (like when he "ironically" brings up being a best-selling author, when it's obvious he's actually really proud of that or that one MMA documentary he helped make). But I still think he's really funny and he's probably responsible for at least 90% of the times I've laughed out loud at Chapo episodes.
