Raccoons aren't big but they're quick and mean as poo poo if threatened. I'm impressed he got in there with a heavy enough blow without it running off or attacking.

Both of those responses are reasonable answers to my inquiry. I've generally avoided them because they're tricky smart, and usually full of disease. Sucks to be that raccoon. Although a bunch of the local folks I knew when I lived in TN told tales of keeping them as pets.

Good defense against raccoons, not so much against gophers and badgers.

He was able to keep a wild animal right where he wanted it. You might say he's a good game manager.

Iron Bowl Cops! http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/12/5/7332645/alabama-vs-auburn-iron-bowl-police-profile "Gate 40. Gate 40. Charles Barkley needs assistance. Gate 40. Charles Barkley needs an escort in, is being mobbed." This is the second-best dispatch call of the weekend, the first coming around 8:30 on Friday night: "Unidentified male in a Boise State hoodie walking up the highway with a machete. Plain-clothes officer is approaching." What you can't help but notice about Tuscaloosa is that the officer who called in the suspicious male didn't report any detail other than the specific college football team on the man's sweatshirt."

Not just saying this as a TCU fan, but that clearing does fill me with concern. Especially the week that they found a concussed player dead in a dumpster, concussions need to be taken so seriously.
