Ah, 7.61.1 here still. But I got an idea from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pocketcasts/comments/1c5hhqx/had_no_idea_theyd_find_a_way_to_make_the_widget/ Yikes.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple counter app? Ideally where I can put a widget on my home screen and tap it to increase a counter. Trying to track a health issue which means counting how many times I do some stuff

In gmail, my primary email account has stopped receiving new mail notifications, but my secondary account still gets them What setting did I accidently fat thumb to turn off notifications?
|
# ? Apr 19, 2024 15:58 |

Mine randomly did that a few days ago. Suddenly I got two notifications, swiped one away, got a new notification, swiped it away, and ended up getting like 20 notifications one by one from emails that came in over the last few hours. No idea what caused it or how to fix it.

Wierd, YouTube was loving up for me and I had to wipe local data and relogin in, and now shorts don't have a progress/seek bar? Please tell me the seek bar on shorts wasn't some A/B feature and now I'm in B.

Sorry to ask this again, but does anyone know a good shopping list app that works with Google Assistant? Remember the Milk doesn't have that feature, at least not anymore.

God I hate all podcast apps so much. Google Podcasts finally made its export tool available in Europe as well, so the end really is coming. Having checked out maybe a dozen apps again today, I just hate all of them! I don't want 'Explore' or 'Discover' or 'Trending' on the home page. I don't want any community features. I just want to see the latest god drat episodes of podcasts I signed up for right away! I want to be able to create a queue and add episodes to it, and I want to be able to mark episodes as played. I know everyone is going to say Antennapod is the best, but I bounced very hard off their interface after trying to use it for a few days. Just doesn't work for me. I really hope someone will have the good sense to just create a Google Podcasts clone. I'd pay good money for that

PocketCasts has a discover/search section, but IME it doesn't open to that unless maybe if you were on that page last time you used the app.

It's been said already, but Google Podcasts was so good, and Google is dumb as poo poo for making the Android experience worse and worse with every passing year. The Google suite of apps is as much part of the appeal as the hardware. Anyway, just old man yelling at cloud here.

Antennapod has checkboxes to remove navigation drawer items and can set a default page to start on. You don't have to see any of that poo poo. I just have queue and subscriptions. If you want something that is basic and a different breed, KDE Kasts is alright.

I am a diehard Pocket Casts user, love the sync between my devices. I use it like once every two months but can't believe it's even on my watch. A weird thing with the discovery feature is a friend's podcast does not show on the Canadian charts whatsoever and he's pinged them a few times to make sure he's listed -- he's high on the Apple ones.

Yeah a lot of people complain about it but it's been fantastic for me. I do pretty much just use it for existing podcasts and not looking for new content, however.

Is there a client for Spotify that I can use that gives me more control over what's shown on my home screen? Specifically I want to remove AI playlist recommendations, podcasts, and audiobooks.

does any of the clients here do the thing of pausing podcast when navitation/phone/etc happens because the last update of youtube music messed that up

How do I access Archives/Archived Chats in the latest version of Whatsapp? It just updated for me and I...can't find it. I can find it on the Windows client but either my eyes are just not looking at the right thing or the option is straight up gone, at least in the parts where I think it'd make sense to place it.

For me it's at the top of my list of chats. A box symbol with "Archived"

Resdfru posted:Weird, what's the reason for moving that into the play store? As far as I can tell, Samsung hasn't said. They just quietly put it there, and a couple of people found it, then tweeted about it, and the various Android news sites are letting everyone know. They're all also making a point that it's in Early Access, and that the only module available right now is One Handed Operation+.

I hope this is a sign that they are going to move to ditch their own app store. The only reason they had it in the first place is to service Tizen and a possible Android fork. However, Samsung has been getting cozier and cozier with Google in the past few years and now with all the AI stuff that Google is licensing to them, I don't think there's much chance that they would ever fork Android now and Tizen only lives on in their TVs.

The Spotify app has been getting worse and worse. Recently they quietly deprecated local file syncing, so now if you want to play local files you have to manually copy them onto your device instead of having the option to automatically sync them from the device on which they're stored. Wow, okay, why don't I just use Android's built-in audio player at that point? They also added in this stupid AI voice "feature" when you reconnect your device. When you restart the app, an AI generated voice says "Resuming [whatever you were playing]" instead of just, y'know, picking up where you left off, like any other device should. It also turns off your shuffle if it was on. Fantastic. Are there better music players for Android that just loving work properly? Also, is there an easy way to back up and play Spotify audio elsewhere? If I'm still paying for their premium service (it's mostly for the family), I might as well make it worth my while.

There's an app called spotiflyer that lets you download music from your spotify so you can use it in your normal music player You can "share" an album or playlist from within spotify to the spotiflyer app and it'll give you download buttons for all the songs. I use the foobar2000 app as my music player since that's what I use on PC and it works well enough, plus it's free. Can't speak for the competition.
