Bitsavings Promises 5% Monthly Interest on Bitcoin Deposits

A bitcoin deposit service called Bitsavings is offering returns of 5% a month to anyone bold enough to put their savings there.

Despite the name, Bitsavings is not attempting to be a bitcoin bank and seems to be offering users worldwide a chance to buy into its trading scheme, which it says is “working fine thus far”.

The company, whose site went live 60 days ago, is based out of Panama according to a spokesman. Terms and conditions listed on the site state it is subject to the laws of Romania. The deposit address listed on the site, however, had recorded no activity and had a 0 BTC balance at the time of writing.

ah, bitsavings as opposed to bitcoin savings and loan, and 5% interest monthly as opposed to 7% interest weekly. it's gonna be pirate40 2.0 (pirate80)

Why I think Bitcoin is gonna make it(part II) (self.Bitcoin)

submitted 2 minutes ago by liumiao

When I wrote the Why I think Bitcoin is gonna make it , I just wanted to confess and never expected any tips, to me, those encouragements are much more valuable than any tips.

But I realised for the first time that, I made some money by writing in English other than translating it. This too, was made possible by Bitcoin and reddit, thank you guys.

In China, there's such a career called Internet commentators, aka 50 cents party . Some people are hired to post comments on forums to offset negative contents about the government, it is said these people are paid 50 cents CNY per post, which is how their name came from.

As you can see, it is a lovely job, people get paid only 8 cents in USD to write a post they don't believe themselves.

While browsing Bitcointalk, I found someone is asking people to Earn up to 0.8BTC/month just by posting, the advertiser pays people 0.0002BTC(which is about 1 CNY) per post as long as whoever use an ad signature, no matter what she posts about.

That's doubled income comparing to 50 Cents Party. Theoretically, there's a business model like this, hire some 50 Cents Party people to post on Bitcointalk, get paid by the advertiser, give half of the earning to those 50 Cents Party. Those people can make the same amount of money like before, but no need to defend dictatorship anymore.

This is made possible by Bitcoin, for the first time, people can get paid for whatever they post

Hmm, that's a very interesting statistic. I think there are people in the rural area that are struggling but nowhere near other parts of Africa. HIV/AIDS is a huge problem and it's the too nation in the world for the STD. Botswana has done an AMAZING job redistributing the wealth of the diamond trade there. Everyone at the uni I was at was not only receiving free tuition, board, etc but also a monthly allowance - I paid to attend and use their facilities for the year I was there... However, I didn't pay what I should have bc I just bribed a few people here and there. It's extremely disorganized compared to western standards but they're trying in the sense, but nepotism is a HUGE problem. Work and time do not take priority. It's definitely a "I'll get to it" type of culture. Nothing wrong with that... Tbh, I wish the whole world would just take a breath and realize money isn't everything for the soul of the human... However, it's a huge pain like I said to get any work done if you actually want something done.

A bug in the bitcoin software makes it possible for someone to use the Bitcoin network to alter transaction details to make it seem like a sending of bitcoins to a bitcoin wallet did not occur when in fact it did occur. Since the transaction appears as if it has not proceeded correctly, the bitcoins may be resent. MtGox is working with the Bitcoin core development team and others to mitigate this issue.

In the meantime, exchanges and wallet services - and any service sending coins directly to third parties - should be extremely careful with anyone claiming their transaction did not go through.

Note that this will also affect any other crypto-currency using the same transaction scheme as Bitcoin.

Bitcoin transactions are subject to a design issue that has been largely ignored, while known to at least a part of the Bitcoin core developers and mentioned on the BitcoinTalk forums. This defect, known as "transaction malleability" makes it possible for a third party to alter the hash of any freshly issued transaction without invalidating the signature, hence resulting in a similar transaction under a different hash. Of course only one of the two transactions can be validated. However, if the party who altered the transaction is fast enough, for example with a direct connection to different mining pools, or has even a small amount of mining power, it can easily cause the transaction hash alteration to be committed to the blockchain.

Bitcoin is already the most stable store of value.

#1

What is a better store of value in the mind of the owners?

One that gets thrown on the market after only the smallest change in the market variables? Or one that people want to hold no matter what the market does?

The price elasticity of demand for bitcoin is very small. This means the price can move a lot without leading to extra bitcoins being released from people's coffins. The bitcoin market is very shallow, which is one reason behind the relatively high price volatility.

This is a sign of strength of bitcoin, not of weakness. Bitcoin owners have no doubt about it's future!
