So there are going to be 'viewing parties' in Vancouver, but in a random West side park that's only really serviced by one bus route without a significant walk, is a ten minute walk from the Canada line and is an extra 30+ minute transfer after coming off a skytrain if you're coming that way. It's almost like they want to be able to say they have a viewing party while heavily limiting the types of people that might go. I understand why they don't want to do it downtown but it does seem like they threw a dart at a map and decided to have the viewing party there. There are a lot more accessible parks uptown than where they decided to hold the viewing party. I think they are purposely trying to prevent people who would take transit from going to the viewing party.
