Honestly, it feels like they've learned a lot from the first Love Live series and applied their knowledge to the new one, not just the anime but the project as a whole. The music, and especially the characters, feels much more polished and consistent right from the get-go this time around. I'll always love the originals, but Sunshine is giving them a run for their money right out of the gate. Also I'm patiently waiting for Kanan to do something, cause for some inexplicable reason she's my fave. Dia and Mari are close seconds... actually if there's one piece of consistency from LL to Sunshine, it's that the third years are always the best!

The Kurosawa sisters' looks (and apparently personalities) are based off of the NicoMaki ship so I don't think either of them is very tall. And Hanamaru is even shorter than Nico. The Sunshine girls are probably on average shorter than the og cast.

Maki was actually the second tallest OG Love Live: Which I suppose does map to Dia:  μ's average height: 158 cm standard devation: 2.54 Aqours average height: 158.1 cm standard deviation: 3.63 So Aqours is taller and their heights are more varied than μ's. I think it's just that the characters we've seen the most of so far are mostly the girls in the middle.

That's funny. Maybe I have this impression because Aquors is more recent and maybe younger than μ's (not sure how many years/months/days/minutes the anime takes place after the OG). Maybe Sunshine's character design is "thicker" than OG back in 2013, having evolved through these years? Also what the gently caress Yohane is kinda crouched on that chart. Get your knees straight, girl!

I wanted to watch the movie before I started this series and I have to say that I didn't particularly like the movie. I don't know why but it didn't really grab me and I felt like there wasn't any real goal or major plot point in the movie. It really felt just like a really long epilogue to the really good TV series. The last stage scene was really good so I guess it puts it on par with the also bad Idolm@ster movie where the main part was also poo poo except for the final stage scene.
