They kept saying it was the largest crowd ever last night, which was a bit surprising.

Their fans were drunk as gently caress. They threw a bunch of trash on the field after a home run.

Dummies don’t know that you’re supposed to do that after a the other team does some dumb bullshit. There also wasn’t a single mustard bottle. Amateurs.

This Tech team is not built for the postseason. We have one good starting pitcher, two good relievers and a fantastic buy young batting lineup.

We're going to take a lot of single games and win a lot of series, but we'll also have head-scratchers like yesterday's 12-4 drubbing in game 3 of the series at OU.

Yikes.

Drove up to Columbia to watch the Cocks 10-run us. Lost count of runs walked in. 4 or 5.

Idk where to find the stats, but it seems like scoring is WAY up this year. We already know the balls are juiced, I wonder what else is contributing

My buddy and I were talking about that on the way up. It’s gotta be some percentage of the balls but maybe pitch clock hurrying pitchers? I dunno.

Petry hit one about a mile in the first or second. Held right until the bullpen just completely forgot how to throw strikes. Got out of hand in a hurry.

Still had a good time. Can’t win ‘em all.

Oh yeah, it’s a wonky sport. But unless the bats are red hot we don’t have the pitching to hang with the best in the country. I don’t see a deep run in us, but maybe the pen will turn it around and hold the line in an Ole Miss type revival.

Tech lost just their second series of the year this weekend @ KSU, but have not managed to sweep a series either, sitting at just 9-9 in the big xii.

Minus a crazy hot streak to end the season, it's looking like they wind up a scary 2 seed in a middle regional (#6-12, guessing).

A Texas A&M-Texarkana baseball player was struck by a stray bullet during a game, had emergency surgery and is in stable condition, the school said Monday.

Matthew Delaney, 18, from Princeton, Texas, was standing near the bullpen at George Dobson Field at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana during a game against University of Houston-Victoria on Sunday afternoon when he was hit in the chest by the bullet.

The Texarkana Police Department said it received several calls of shots fired in a neighborhood just west of the park, and believes the bullet that struck Delaney was from a shootout that took place there. Police do not believe Delaney was targeted.

"The incident started as a disturbance there that lead to two men shooting at each other in front of the house," Texarkana PD wrote in a Facebook post. "One of those errant rounds travelled about 400 yards and struck the innocent victim at the ball field."

Demarco Banks, 20, who police believe was one of the shooters, turned himself in on charges of deadly conduct. The police are still searching for Kamauri Butler, 17, who is believed to be the other gunman. He is wanted on a warrant for aggravated assault.

Officers also arrested Yankeengea Smith, 49, for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Nathan Moore, 19, for tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana and Marcell Beaver, 19, for possession of marijuana.

The game was called a no-contest. An A&M-Texarkana spokesman said Monday that baseball coach Steve Jones was able to visit Delaney on Sunday as he recovers.

400 yards is a hell of shot

Ohio gambling regulators on Monday instructed the state's licensed sportsbooks to halt betting on college baseball games involving Alabama after suspicious wagering activity was detected on the Crimson Tide's game against top-ranked LSU on Friday.

The directive, issued by Ohio Casino Control Commission executive director Matthew T. Schuler and obtained by ESPN, prohibits "the acceptance of any wagers on University of Alabama baseball effective immediately."

Just the fact that a "large" bet was placed on a college baseball game was probably enough

quote:

Ronnie Johns, executive director of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, described one of the bets as "large" to NOLA.com and added that didn't suspect anything suspicious regarding LSU.

Regular-season college baseball does not typically attract significant betting interest or large wagers. FanDuel said it didn't take a single bet on the game and other sportsbooks also reported minimal betting on the game.

Alabama fired baseball coach Brad Bohannon after he was found to be connected with betting activity in Ohio concerning the LSU-Alabama game on Friday, two people briefed on the investigation told The Athletic.

ESPN obtained the text of an emergency order sent to Ohio sportsbooks regarding “suspicious wagering activity” on last Friday’s game against LSU, and NOLA.com later reported that two suspicious bets placed in Cincinnati, both involving LSU winning the game, triggered the alert.

Alabama were down 8-1 after 7 and ended up losing 8-6; if the coach placed a bet on LSU to win and then sweated out a failed comeback..... wow
