So many people are tied up in big stories right now, I'm not sure who's going to face Swerve. A returning Hangman would be cool, but maybe you save that for later down the line. Christian seems to make sense to me, too. PAC maybe?

I'm really coming around to the idea of folding Swerve into the New Elite vs. AEW angle they seem to be doing. He's brooding enough to be their unhinged vigilante, is the world champion so he should be involved in what is going to be their biggest angle of the year, and has the Hangman rivalry to add easy personal stakes. The question is how it all comes together and whether they want to make it happen after DoN. I love Jack Perry but I don't think Perry vs. Swerve should happen yet either. Interesting stuff and a lot of questions need to be answered tonight so we have a clearer direction, but I'm excited for what the future holds.

I could see an argument for doing JP/Swerve now because Jack has a lot of heat/momentum and why not capitalize on it?

Also, man, this is the most I've enjoyed Adam Copeland ever and he's hit a wonderful groove in AEW. I kinda figured he'd be playing the hits on a new roster, but he's trying new things and often wrestles his opponent's match (usually by taking a ton of their offense) instead of the other way around. He doesn't feel like WWE Edge at all, really. It rules.

I love it when you can obvious tell the wrestler is having an absolute blast. Edge is going out on his terms and man does he deserve to.

There's a part of me that would like to see Hangman slipping onto the babyface side versus The Elite. We all know he's the soul of AEW and him defending it from assholes, even if those people are his close friends, would be great.

Him begrudgingly being on the same side as Swerve for a bit might also be interesting because I trust AEW to do better than "CaN ThEy Co-eXiSt!?"

I think we're too soon for Hangman to go back to a face. I need to see him explore this heel character more, especially with Swerve. IMO he should still hate The Elite though, but he can begrudgingly work with them because they'll give him a shot at Swerve.

Kenny is absolutely going to get attacked tonight and Hangman is absolutely making the save and they're going to recruit some people to go up against the Elite

IMHO Swerve should stay separate from all that since the Elite is based on all the old Bullet Club members who are friends IRL. I guess Jack Perry is an exception but at least he's been to NJPW. Swerve should go off and do his own thing. And as much as I like the idea of Christian coming back to face him at DoN, I don't want Christian to go on a losing streak

Swerve should be defending against the new elites like Takeshita and Ospreay and Fletcher and Jay White and yes all of those guys can take a loss without it hurting them. Swerve can't be clowning on midcarders unless they're planning on having him make someone a star, which I would be fine with as long as that star making match results in the loser getting some momentum

That fan survey was a good read because it was really nice to see that the majority of fans surveyed also really hate the false start pushes that TK does all the time. After Hobbs beat Jericho convincingly he should have gone on a tear just destroying everyone in his path but nope he was kept off TV for weeks and then came back to lose to either Ospreay or Takeshita, I forget. It's moot now that he's injured but the point stands. They brought back Deeb months ago with a big return match and a promo and she's been off TV until last week. Knock that poo poo off TK!

The problem with keeping Swerve out of The Elite angle is, well, they've already put him into it on Saturday, and it's also the hottest angle in the company, it's what they're putting all their focus into and what's getting them coverage, so if Swerve isn't in it, his stories will feel secondary by that very nature.

I also don't like the start/stop pushes but that's improved since the C2, and that's kinda why I'd like to see Jack Perry get a title shot sooner rather than later. TK often waits so long to officially push people that they get injured on their way up the card and he has to pivot, which isn't his strong suit.

I think you can easily build Jack Perry a bit more so he can feel like a credible challenger by All Out.

I'd love it if we get The Elite vs Team Hangman Blood and Guts at some point, there's one spot left on Team Hangman, and Hangman has to go to Swerve for help because he knows he's the best person for a violent and deranged match like that.

It would be a nice twist on the trope if the Bucks used Okada as their enforcer. Instead of a big dumb brute that's expected to lose against the babyface it's just the best wrestler in the world, an insurmountable obstacle who shouts scooby dooby doo when doing dives.

Jungle Jack does not need to be in the world title picture at all. Have him go for international or hell, even the FTW. He's got history with Jericho that he couldn't beat him in that 10 minute match.

the way i see it, the EVPs' hand was forced by the tyrant Tony Khan into suspending Hangman for putting his hands on the officials. the Bucks understand the emotional context of his actions, and under their kinder, more understanding leadership, Hangman will be welcomed back into the fold to deal with that dastardly Swerve Strickland who broke into his dang house.

I’ve been thinking if they’re going to put swerve and hangman in that angle there might be some sort of temporary uneasy alliance between them vs the elite. Corpo hangman could be fun but not what I expected given the rest of that angle. We’ll see.

I'm wracking my brain to remember, have there been any notable kayfabe friendships across Heel/Face lines as part of an angle, like one guy turns heel or face but stays friendly with the faction that's the opposite alignment? Closest that doesn't really count that I can think of is Rey Fenix being anti-tiny hammer while Pac and Penta were full on hammer fiends. Usually that misalignment leads to a breakup match but I'm trying to remember if any haven't and that's just part of the characters
