strange feelings re Daisy posted:

If you ever work in retail or food service you will eventually see someone melt down like this over nothing.

While working at a grocery store in an extremely upscale neighborhood a customer once pitched a fit and threw a bag of dogfood over her shoulder so hard it smacked into the guy behind her in line and exploded all over the place. She was wearing an extravagant pearl necklace and was covered in diamonds.

She was a perfectly polite and normal customer in every regard until the end of the transaction and the automatic change machine on my register didn't have enough pennies in it to give her the full 17 cents in change she was entitled to. I apologized for the inconvenience and told her that while I could give her the dime and nickel she'd need to see another register or the front register for the last two pennies. That's when the dogfood went airborne.

That's when I learned it didn't matter what kind of neighborhood you worked in. Retail was retail.

Farley's reaction in that, while a meme now, is just so amazing.
I dunno if I've ever seen anyone convey a sense of true, absolute betrayal quite like he does in those few moments before losing his poo poo.

I honestly think if he hadn't overdosed that he would have been able to put together some incredible dramatic performances. There's little nuggets of brilliance that you can see (like what you pointed out) that show through in a lot of his work, and I think had he lived long enough to develop that he would have been great.
Apparently he had been working on a biopic about Fatty Arbuckle that would have been his first dramatic role. It's a shame he never got the chance to make it.

I would've loved to see him play Jim Carrey's role in The Cable Guy, but he turned it down back in the day due to scheduling conflicts.

I've been trying to find the old SNL commercial for Yardapult for years, never been able to find it.

Should we take bets on which long time cast member leaves and which new featured player will not come back and we'll never see them again?

Colin has said before that he planned on leave after the 2020 election. Cecily has a new Lorne produced show on Apple+. Kate can't really seem to get any deals that aren't bit parts in movies you that are so bad, you only see on airplanes.

Ok I tried to watch the episode with Anya Taylor Joy but I only watched the monologue because she is enchanting. I dunno what it is about those bug eyes, you know what I mean? The rest of the episode is like making it through a cringe compilation, I couldn't do it. I found this though:

Guys, SNL has always been this way. Remember in the 90s when everyone danced under a massive portrait of Ken Starr? Or when they publicly apologized during a segment for making fun of Gorbachev's birthmark?

Kenan Thompson acts like Kenan Thompson and recycles characters from All That. There is literally nothing in his performance than resembles a performance. He could be playing a cactus, he could be playing Oprah, he could be playing a Shakesperaean master. You literally would never know without the context of makeup, setting, and what the other cast members are doing. He is, and can only be, Kenan Thompson, a buffoon so inept at buffoonery that 80% of his perceived worth as a comedian is based on the fact that he can open his mouth in an amusing o-face sort of thing. Amongst drag queens, that's a basic talent, but apparently this is enough for the show to keep him around longer than Don loving Pardo.
