Long story short, Spider-Man's powers had a mystical element to them, Kaine-Scarlet Spider ended up basically inheriting all the mystical elements while Peter kept the basic poo poo, so he could pop out 'stingers' for some reason.

I mean technically it hasn’t happened yet but I think it’s going down in the next issue. The last issue dealt with Queen Goblin (not to be confused with Goblin Queen who also has been involved in the Ben story) trying to put a whammy on Ben and Peter showed up to save him. And future covers have Peter as a Goblin on them so I’m kinda just putting the pieces together myself here.

I just learned recently that when Zeb Wells was writing all that Peter/MJ/Whatever his name was junk, he was going through a divorce. A divorce from his wife who's a Saturday Night Live actress.

I had to laugh when Wolverine #43 had a "parental advisory - not for kids" warning on the front and then on the third page they censor a curse that based on the previous word being "an" was almost certainly "rear end in a top hat"

As someone who mostly reads the Big Two via their apps now, I'm bummed that Avengers Inc. got cancelled. That book was fuckin' rad, and it's frustrating that the series managed to both do compelling done-in-one stories but also had them tie together into a longer origin story for a new team... all the things people supposedly want, with great writing, a cool aesthetic, and great pencils... and it just died on the vine  At least Moon Knight going "Hey, this is a West Coast Avengers thing!" can make me giggle any time I remember it.
