I think he's absolutely nailing the big picture, but the technical details of good composition could use some help. It's like he's blind to anything to do with the background of a picture.

Yeah the background is where I think most people fail when they compose, with a decent background this shot is cute, with this background it looks like someone doing a poo poo in the flower borders outside an old people's home.

The downcast disapproving look on the statue cracks me up. There's definitely something good that could come out of this idea but the photographer failed to get anywhere close to it.

Something is really weird with that guy. He only has 1149 followers on IG. Only 5 Patrons donating a total of $35 a month on Patreon. Even his Twitter only has 20k followers. Obviously his pictures are awful and his captions are word soup but you would think he would have more followers with the level of exposure he has. And how do you justify press credentials to get that level of exposure with so few followers? Rather than Russian spy/plant my conspiracy theory is spy/plant for the Unification Church (aka Moonies). baw posted:

There's going to be a dozen "white house photographers" though, isn't there? It seems like it'd be easy for the lovely ones to get completely ignored. I would think Souza is the exception in terms of growing a following.

I would think Souza is the exception in terms of growing a following. yeah for the presidential photographer there is just one (who often has a few other photographers working underneath them.) the vp also has a photographer, and i imagine most cabinet members do too. maybe even some legislators. those are the "official" photographers then there are the photographers who work for news agencies or other governments, or freelancers who regularly sell their photos to those organizations (the article notes that several hundred photographers have wh access.) they go to the white house when their work calls for it, like if there is a relevant briefing. from what i can tell, william is the only one who wanders aimlessly around the white house grounds taking random creepshots of people and things without actually being employed by anyone Megabound posted:I think we just found out who 365 Nog Hogger is irl as a 365 Nog Hogger fan, this is now canon baw fucked around with this message at 06:36 on Apr 24, 2021 |

I'm gonna make a photoshop plugin (powered by AI of course) that analyzes a photo and automatically puts bokeh blurred leaves along the bottom edge of the image. I'll make millions. Sky replacement is so passe, foreground replacement is the actual future.

Reminds of the winner of this recent NPR photo contest where they took a picture of a worker in India and then had a company stick him into some unrelated desert. The photographer and judge claim it’s impactful and emotional but it feels like something from Flickr circa 2010 to me

Like they had photos they show actual emotions and then you have the winner where it’s like “I photoshopped him into a desert to make him seem lonely” and the judge had no idea what the photo was trying to convey until they read the caption provided by the photographer by the judge’s own omission

Was scanning around for places to do night landscapes in Colorado, ran across this entrepreneur. "can you please stand next to this outhouse for 30 seconds so I can make you blurry and blow the highlights? thaaaanks" "aww gently caress my exposure was too short, whelp we're gonna crank the sliders anyways and savor all that sensor noise." And yes, they sell workshops. https://shoutoutcolorado.com/meet-maggie-martin-astrophotographer-extraordinaire/
