Doredrin posted:It would be quite clear to any reader who was familiar with the events of the novella that my film was a faithful adaptation in the same vein as the Lord of the Rings live action movies. Actually what's clear to the reader is that in the case of the Lord of the Rings movies a bunch of people worked very sincerely on making the best possible self-contained artwork they could for their audience, one derived from prior art but fully capable of standing on its own and delivering a comprehensible message to people who'd never read the books, and consequently achieved great success and acclaim; whereas your video is a slipshod, self-indulgent piece of mental detritus given the name of a greater work of fiction, but incapable of functioning as art even riding its coattails. Why is your title screen a broken map of Europe mixed with a Canadian flag? It's probably an image I can't see. Forgive my ignorance.

In his confused state, he insults the posters who find him, for which he is sentenced to six years in a goon camp. Doredin slowly regains his memory. While in the goon camp, Doredin attends a showing of Sullivan's Travels. Looking at the pure joy in the audience's faces, Doredin realizes that comedy can do more good for the poor than his "avant-garde" animation, The Metamorphosis.

Just to reiterate: I did like it (although I didn't bother to watch the whole thing). The aggressive crappiness made me laugh. To be fair, I feel that this thread is a sort of indispensable companion piece.

I liked the whole disjointed multiple facets thing. But it wasn't really fapworthy. Have you considered either adding n-dimensional breasts or making a cockroach with, like, really sexy titties? Otherwise it was great.

Don't sweat it - we all had fun. Besides, the video wasn't much worse than the Robin fan film someone posted 6 months ago, and that was real. Also, I thought the Dalgo professor detail was the tip off he was trolling, but I googled his name and he really is a professor somewhere. So there's probably some truth to the story, like the OP paid for classes taught by the Dalgo director.

Say what you will about "Delgo", but sitting in a theater watching a commercially released film with one of the directors of the film in attendance was a unique experience.

So there's probably some truth to the story, like the OP paid for classes taught by the Dalgo director. That's because he's not lying. The purpose of this thread is to prop up the bad art by distracting us with very factual autobiographical details. OP's basic point is that he has all the trappings of an artist - went to art school, is mentally ill, read Kafka, is laughed at - so therefore his film must be good.

OP you need to take a different tack on the anti-commercialism. Livestream yourself flying a hijacked airliner into your workplace. No one will ever forget. Also you'll need a workplace for this plan to work.

Isn't the Kanye West video the Verwandlung moment in the OP? I can't believe we didn't think to ask before. Edit: In my mind you made a video the offended the director of Dalgo and he put you on academic probation. Now that would be a cool backstory.
