Inspired by this thread I just made a Halloween trail mix of candy corn, peanuts, and pretzels. I should mix in some Reese's Pieces too.

I bought one of those 30 flavor Jelly Belly bags the other day. Red apple is the clear winner for flavors. Orange sherbet and raspberry were contenders, then a few others but buttered popcorn solidly on the bottom

I love the vanilla bean and root beer. Orange sherbert is definitely up there.

the best chocolate: any chocolate covered fruit but raisins, cherries, blueberries, orange peel, I'll consider ginger a fruit for the purposes of this argument. twix. reeses. the best non-chocolate: kasugai gummies (the yuzu and muscat ones are best), strawberry bonbons (the grandma candy). they're not actually a candy I guess but I also like trader joe's chai mints.

In Canada at least they're now just called Terry's Orange bc they can't legally be called chocolate any more Still give everyone a chocolate orange for Christmas though

There have been times in my life where I've been so desperate for anything sweet that I'll eat the candy I usually hate and actually enjoy it. I have learned the real truth: the best candy is the candy that you have in your hand when you are craving sweet things. The worst candy is your favorite candy when you're already full and you eat it anyway because it's your favorite and don't even enjoy it and maybe even get sick. I have no reason for stating this.

no sorry. the best candy is the good poo poo i like and the worst candy is those lil fourth of july poppers.

Canada can be weirdly particular with food laws. For a long time mountain dew wasn't allowed to have caffeine here because it's a soda that isn't dark in colour. But toys in kinder eggs are still cool

Reminds me of the one time when I was a teenager when I got a giant Hershey's Kiss (might've been directly from the park/factory? Can't remember.) and it lasted the whole rest of the summer. If you're the sort of person who would otherwise keep snacking on candy on a semi-regular basis, the sheer overwhelming nature of it was a surprisingly good way to convince you to cut it out with the chocolate for a few weeks afterwards.

Gonna put my posts where my mouth is and review some haribo sours. Twin Snakes: I only had these in a starmix but they are amazing. They very much embody the fun of gummy worms but with better flavours. Tangfastics: These are alright, there's a wide variety of sour coated gummies that are generally good, but the shapes also lend to them being chewier than they should be. Rainbow Strips - Z!NG: Stay away from these if you are a fan of sour gummies. These are way too conveniently delicious when you strip away each flavour. These are bad for people, stay away from them.
