It's possible it's meant to be clearer in the manga, but between how Najimi occasionally adopts a definite gender whenever it suits, and the way different translations address the issue I've been left with no real idea what's going on and just assuming Najimi doesn't care, everyone else is (mostly) happy to accept that (outside Tadano taking exception when Najimi tries to goes to the girls changing room or something) and that that's the simplest and most fun way to interpret it anyway.

I binged the whole thing like a week ago and yeah, this manga’s great. I guess the suspense to Komi and Tadano confessing/dating would have been a drag if I was reading week by week, but as is I was just happy for so many one-off chapters with goofy stuff like “Hitomi beat up en entire biker gang” though.
