barely any even recoup printing costs. if you're making really successful porn and have enough of a name you can afford to charge a premium price you might make enough money for dinner with your friends after the event. like 90% of doujin artists are losing 50-100 bucks. the people making any money in what people'd call the 'doujin' scene are the people who are making original hentai manga and the west only thinks of those as doujins because that's somehow also become our word for hentai manga.

That's a good show that would have benefitted a whole lot from being two cours and giving itself some time to breathe. It had a lot of cool ideas and all of its big scenes *basically* worked, but there were some moments that ought to have really destroyed me if I had had more than a sketchy sense of who the characters involved were or what their emotional journey was like.
