Honestly, on paper based on the events of the night, the most logical outcome would be that they're having Sami win a Mania title shot at Elimination Chamber against Roman, and also somehow splitting the WWE title off Roman so Cody can fight for that belt at Mania in a story that has nothing to do with Roman. Because man, trying to introduce Cody into the Bloodline story right now is such a long walk when you can just go for the tap-in with Sami

There are two titles m8. Clearly the plan is to take one if not both off Roman at mania and go back to having a title per show.

Rick posted:I kind of am thinking they were going to go with Roman defending the title on two nights, maybe losing to Cody night one and beating Sami on night two although who knows. I think the reverse will happen; Roman beats Cody on night one (maybe through some shenanigans) and loses to Sami (and thus has a plausible excuse from being exhausted) on night two. Sami's going to win the title. It'll be a short reign like Kofi, but it's going to happen.

Sure seems like they’re setting up Roman to lose twice! The whole point of this storyline is the downfall. Cody is winning the WWE title night 1 and then Sami is winning night 2. Edit: lmao the avatar

The only ending that would be better imo was Sami braining reigns with the chair and then being beaten down. But chair shots to the head shouldn’t happen anymore so this was next best Edit: lmao at this title

I get that he’s a heel but they’ve been talking about doing Sami-Roman at EC for a while and if that’s the direction you’re headed, it makes no sense to not give tonight to Sami. It only helps Roman, too. The Bloodline is very close to jumping into “go away” heat with all the fuckery and giving the crowd their moment with Sami helps them stay on the right side of that.

And I can't think the Saudi's wouldn't want the titles being defended on their show.

Honestly, given the obvious problem of “can’t have Sami be the top guy going into the Saudi show,” would almost make more sense to have Sami win night one and lose to Cody night two. To keep it fair, Cody has to have a match the first night. Roman, under the assumption he’s gonna be defending against Cody, calls in a favor to Seth and has him kick the poo poo out of Cody with Cody barely pulling out the win. Night 2 is the two most over faces in the company reprising Shinsuke’s NXT debut. Jk Dwayne’s coming.

The only reason I'm not in the "they're not going to pay this off well enough" camp is that Sami/KO vs. Usos as the endgame makes basically no sense after the events of the past week, and if that's not what the payoff for this story is I can't imagine they'd do something lesser. It's possible they just completely botch having a satisfying payoff, and it's possible they try to square peg/round hole the tag team storyline, but it's just really hard to imagine. Which leaves "Sami's actually getting a Mania match somehow" as a conclusion still in play, even if it's kind of hard to imagine that too

Sami wrestling (and beating) Roman at Mania would be the satisfying, correct conclusion, but like....man, what convoluted goofery do you do to get there that you couldn't just accomplish by doing this angle and then having Sami win the Rumble?

I just hate getting too violent for wrestling story shifts It only works if you've established that a wrestler is a stickler for the rules and there's violent poo poo they won't do or they really deeply care about the well being of the person being potentially injured Neither describes why Sami stepped in tonight well after Kevin Owen had his neck snapped in two by a kicked chair
