Women are wonderful animals, they should be making music and writing novels about having a complex relationship with your mother.

My go-to rec for that is a bit more niche, but Inverted Castle is a show I've described as "what if WOFF never had a host sandbag the show if they didn't dislike the game". Only downsides comparatively are that it's monthly, and it only covers metroidvania games.

I’m a big WOFF fan & yeah that’s fair, best eps are when it’s a niche game they both loved like Hypnospace Outlaw or when they have fun dunking on an oddity like Jak 2. Less so when it’s something I enjoyed like Mass Effect & it’s endless complaining & it’s like c‘mon why’d you even pick this. But overall way more hits than misses.

Although my favorite show they do is Unfilmable about horror movies, great energy & fascinating especially when it’s an odd one.

you should check out Valley Heat. It's scripted, but it's incredibly funny, and definitely has a low key vibe. It's about a guy doing a podcast for his neighborhood, but quickly shifts focus to the host trying to figure out if his pool boy is using his garbage can as a drop-off spot for drug deals. Great music, ridiculous ad reads, and a parrot whose vocabulary consists solely of "Michael Douglas". It's loving great. Not along the same lines as bigsofttitty, but what is?

Anybody know what happened with Worst Movies Ever Played? It was a DND style podcast about old 80s movies played by Patrick Baker, Brent Butler, and Geoffrey Golden. Last episode they put out was August 23rd or last year and they mentioned they were in post pro of a third season. Googling this podcast is surprisingly difficult so I was kinda hoping somebody here would know what happened to it.

Try on some Three Bean Salad and see how that feels. Make sure you get the one with Mike Wozniak, Henry Paker, and Ben Partridge and not the similarly named one about ABBA, which was more confusing than fit was funny.

Three Bean Salad is my favourite podcast so I definitely echo this. "Aliens" is a good starting episode as they become obsessed by the argument that the opposite of something isn't the inverse of it, it's the thing least similar to it and then spend an hour trying to figure out what that means.

Thanks to everyone who recommended the Wild Episode too - didn't think it would be my thing at all but it is perfect for going to sleep to.

Rank these shows on copaganda level: Paw Patrol, Chip and Dale, Darkwing Duck, Batman, Powerpuff Girls, Law & Order SVU

I'm only familiar with the first Powerpuff Girls show and some Batman animated shows, I assume that one Darkwing Duck episode is doing a parody of Poison Ivy; Perfectly good motivation but you are turning people into dandelions to do it though so that does override the intention.

New podcast just started recently, ILL EFFECTS, two British media researchers exploring different moral panics about pop culture. We're talking video nasties, salacious novels, and enough THINK OF THE CHILDRENs to fill a PTA meeting.

I’m currently listening to Things Fell Apart and this looks similar so thanks!

Can anyone recommend a general tech podcast that’s weekly/couple of times a week but is mostly from a news/cynical/comedy aspect?

I already listen to Down Round and Better Offline so something similar to those but a bit more news focused.

When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
I am glad I listened to Things Fell Apart but it takes some suspension of outrage in the second season because Jon Ronson is not a "BOTH SIDES!!!!!!!!!" guy but he often plays in that territory for about half of each episode or so.

Brad & Will Made a Tech Pod usually at least touch on the news but they spend a lot of time on old tech too so I'm not sure if that's gonna be helpful for you. I wish "This is only a Test" was still here.

Yeah I just listened to the S2 preview of TFA this morning and given it’s Covid themed I might give it a miss for now.

Thanks for the recommendation I’ll give that a shot!
