I've been container gardening for about 5 years now. Mostly tomatoes, herbs and peppers, with the occasional eggplant or something else funky just for shits and giggles. Does anyone have an opinion on soil replacement when it comes to container gardening? My containers are reasonably large (18" x 18" x 4') and I really noticed a dropoff in production last year. Should I be looking at replacing all the soil, some of it, or sticking with the existing soil and getting better at my fertilizer selection?
