My guy Franklin had similar symptoms, and it turns out he has some mild kitty asthma. After a few day stretch where he was having a coughing attack at least once a day, I took him to the vet, and she prescribed a round of oral steroids which helped him immediately. It's been over a year since then and he still has a 10-15 second cough maybe once a month, with no other noticeable effects. I also got an air filter and have made it a point to vaccum more often. I hope your cat has something at least as manageable!

Sorry if this has been covered but I am planning on adopting 2 kittens this summer and have been looking into the litter robot. I'm not worried about the money but if keeping the thing clean is still more than its worth. Any advice on it?

I've had one for about a year with one cat, he uses it 3-4 times a day and it's the best cat-related thing I've ever bought. I haven't taken it apart to fully clean it yet, but probably will within the next 6 months, following this video:

Get the connect so you get reminders when to empty the tray, subscribe to Dr Elsey's 40lb bags from Amazon, and never worry about litter bullshit again.

I've had one for just over a year and it's the best pet-related purchase I've ever made, and I just have one cat. I might be slightly biased because scooping/sifting litter was the bane of my existence, so spending $500 to eliminate it forever made a lot of sense to me.

My cat immediately started using it and loves it, he previously got obviously annoyed if his litter box wasn't clean enough, and now it's fresh and clean for every use.

You can save $25 on one by using my referral link. I get $25 too, feel free to get a chain going in the thread for poo poo robots for all!

What kind of litter do you use with your robot? I noticed there's a bunch of clumps which didn't make it into the drawer, which doesn't seem to happen with mine.

Also your little a-hole just kind of looks curious about it, is he actually interrupting the cycle or swatting out poops?

For what it's worth, I posted my litter-robot referral link in this thread a long time ago, and I'm pretty sure at least one person said they used it... and I never got any referral credit or payment. Kind of lame. But the robot is still cool :P

Coming up on 2 years since I've owned the litter robot, it's still the best cat-related purchase I've ever made (not counting the adoption fee!)

Just adding another rave review of the Litter Robot, I got it about 2 years ago and it's been flawless and fantastic the whole time.

Pay the extra $50 for WiFi because if I'm ever away for a few days it's strangely comforting to see my guy is still alive and making GBS threads regularly.

I recommend this litter with it, it clumps well with no dust, and Bezos will deliver it right to your door:

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but are there any recommendations for "budget" level automatic cleaning litter boxes? I pay for pet expenses for the cat and dog I had with my ex as "child support" and my ex has a bad back so moving the litter box, scooping every day, and then moving it back to where the dog can't get tootsie rolls out of it is taking a toll. A friend of mine has one that looks like the Epcot Center that has a slide-out tray but it's like $400-500 and I can't afford it, but I don't know what the price range to expect for a decent one is.

I have the litter robot and definitely recommend it, but this one seemed interesting for a travel or secondary one. I'm not sure if picking up the entire thing to rotate it is easier on your back than scooping litter, though.

I say get the litter robot and call it a medical necessity!

The poo poo robot is the best cat-related purchase ever, especially with Chewy delivering 40lbs of Dr Elsey's litter to my doorstep whenever needed.

I've had it just over 3 years now, no issues with 2 cats!
