Sushi!

Adopted at 3/4 months, have had her a year now. Her one trick is coming when I call her, awww! You can't really tell but her eyes are yellow on the outside and a pretty jewel green on the inside. Never seen eyes like that on a cat, so that's a trick, kinda? EDIT: Just noticed another kitty in this thread with similar eyes. So pretty!

When she was still kitteny.

Poser.

All growed up. She destroyed the wood on that loft bed ladder, so I covered it with sisal rope!

I adopted him from the local humane society when he was 7. He just turned 9 this year and he's the greatest friend in the world. I haven't met a nicer cat, all he does is love and sleep (and eat!) He's kind of a diva and cries for food but it's not unbearable.

This is him wearing his baseball helmet.

Couldn't have asked for a better cat!

BONUS! Here's a picture of my Girlfriend's cat Kallie, she's pretty adorable!

I don't like cats but one of my roommate's cats seems to like me so we work it out. He thinks "working it out" means he can curl up in my blankets and on my expensive sheets when he wants and knead the crap out of them until my $80 sheets become $80 threads.

The other cat knows I don't really like it and her only talents are avoiding me and laying on my chest right as I'm about to fall asleep and belching in my face.

Puppy overload...

Here's Roki -- the new little Weimaraner addition to our family -- He just turned 7 weeks old, and moved into his new house just last night. Somehow he slept like a log last night and didn't make a peep at all. I think we must of worn him out.

Hanging out

Loving the food, can't get enough. Need more feet in the bowl!

Hard at work digesting all that food

Checking out the whole 'crate' thing

Teething on the crate

Heinz 'Noodles' van Halteren (his official passport says Heinz, but that is such a crappy name, and we've already got a cat named Elmex; we've reached our animal brand name quota). Adopted him from a rescue shelter website. Person we bought him from said he might have sensitive testicles because his sisters loved to suck on them instead of the mother cat's nipples. Loves to lick my nose and lips, and he has this weird fascination with licking the inside of my nose, not just the outside. Loves to play with his tail and eat everything.

Literally just picked him up.

"Life is a maze. This is one of its dead ends.

This'll be a long one. Hopefully it's a cute one too.
I only got what pictures I had on my phone, which explains the crappiness and the lack of decent pictures. I might get more off my camera tomorrow, if I can find it.

I guess I'll start with the guinea pigs.

This is Spoodles aka Spoodlebear.

She would be about 3.5 years old now but she died a few months ago.
She loved to nibble on my beard and ears. Basically anywhere ticklish. I didn't let her eat my beard though, because who knows what effect that'll have on their stomachs?
Tricks: I taught her to jump through a hoop... sometimes.

Here's a "hey what's that thing" picture. She was the most curious guinea pig I've ever seen. That's not me in the picture.

This is Noodles aka Noodlebear.

She's almost 3 years old. She's the weird one. Her favorite thing in the world is to lick the sides of people's fingers. It's impossible to get a good picture of her because she always does this to the camera.

This is Tugboat
He's a few months shy of being 2.
Not existant: His partner, Earthquake.

He's got a pretty sweet mohawk, and I've always thought he looks like a raptor, especially in this picture. He's also somewhat of an aggressive nibbler, so we have to be careful when we play with him.
I also call him Tuggy Bear. Although in his case it's actually based on something other than looking kinda like a bear (Huggy bear.)

Now the cats, which I'll do in order of when we got them.

This is Tobie, aka Tubby, and Tubster, AKA Suzie Kittles, akd Tubster McKittles
He's my girlfriend's cat. He'll be 2 in a few months. To make a long story about his name short, we originally thought he was a girl, and she wanted to call him Skittles. I said we should call him Suzie Kittles (S. Kittles,) so that's what we did. Then he turned out to be a boy so she renamed him Tobie, after a disgusting hot dog place in Philipsburg, NJ. Don't ever go there. I started calling him Tubby 'cuz it sounds like Tobie and because he's so fat (he's not at all.) But then his tub fetish came out and it stuck.

Tricks: He whines a lot. He's also the only cat we have that will actually sleep on you, rather than with you. He also wiggles his butt just before he jumps and makes a funny squeak as he lands.
As I've typed all this, he's jumped back and forth from the window by my head to the floor probably 10 times.
He likes to sit in/on the tub. He's really weird and is a big crybaby. Despite his love of the tub, he doesn't enjoy baths.

Next is my kitty, Spaghett Sauce / Cat / Kitty.

We found her almost a year ago while we were looking at a house. The realtor never showed up, but the poor kitty with her ribs poking out and big chunks of hair missing did. We tried for weeks to find a shelter to take her, but couldn't. And she's so sweet that by that time I didn't want to get rid of her anyway. So here she is.

She's doing her best ceiling cat impression, I guess.
Tricks: She jumps amazingly high. She used to jump on top of the guinea pigs cage which was on top of my dresser, for a total height of probably 6/7 feet.

See?

Here she is judging me for being bad at calc.

I always thought this would make a good lolcat.

Edit: I just wanted to point out that this picture isn't staged. She did that on her own.

Now the twins!
They're 12 weeks + 3 days old. They exist because my irresponsible sister left my cat outside for an entire weekend because she was the last one to leave the house and was too lazy to get my cat which she let out as she was leaving.
She only had two kittens, which is pretty nice. At least we don't have to find homes for them.

This is Libby. Yes, that is the only picture I have of her. Sorry. She looks almost exactly the same as her brother except he has an orange nose, bigger ears, and almost 2 lbs. on her( 2.25 vs. 4 lbs.) They both love to knock over and sleep in my laundry baskets. She also likes to hide and sleep under dressers. For some reason, she hates everyone but me. I'm the only one who can hold her for any extended period of time and not get clawed, and she's usually laying down by my knees when I wake up. She's kinda named after the Lost character. My girlfriend, who doesn't watch Lost, picked the name and I agreed because I liked Libby.

This is Baxter Stockman. So is this.

Not pictured: Crying until I pick that stick up and he plays with the attached feather.

Baxter Stockman is his full name and that is how he is to be addressed. Except I'm the only one who calls him by his full name.
Anyway, he's the crazy one. He's already jumping up to 4 feet in the air and he usually starts the fights with Libby. He tries to start fights with Tubby too, but it never works. If you recall from above, how Libby is usually sleeping with me when I wake up, he and/or Tubby is/are usually sleeping with me when I go to sleep. It's strange.

Tubby loves them both and they both love him. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of them all as one big happy family.

And FINALLY,

This is my little brother's lizard. It eats crickets and lives under a heat lamp. That's what I know about it.

And that's it for my pets until I find better pictures.

This is Smiler the smiling hound dog.
Rescued by my parents from a shelter who appropriately named him. He will pull his gums back into a grin when he is excited. He likes to shake a lot even when you don't want to. His favorite pastime is putting his head on your lap expecting some attention. Featured as the pet of the day/week in the Houston Chronicle. Dad refers to him as the laughing hyena.

This is Falcor, named after the dragon from The Neverending Story. He is a Lhasa Apso/ Shih Tzu mix. He's 13 years old and acts like he's 13 weeks old. He still chases his tail, still barks at nothing, but best of all, if there is any kind of animal that is smaller than him in the yard, it is as good as dead. I've seen the guy kill snakes, toads (they make him sick, so he avoids those now), squirrels, birds, basically anything. He doesn't eat them or anything, just protects his owners. I love the guy. He may live to be upwards of 20 years old. He's a little hard of hearing, and his vision isn't so great, but he's still very young at heart.

This is Katie, the older of our two Poms. She's going to be ten in November.

Katie was a runt when we got her. I was really little, but I don't remember where it was we adopted her from. I do remember that she was way too young to be away from her mother. Her feet were falling through the bottom of her cage. :( My dad fell in love immediately, so she's pretty much his dog, although she does come running to my room when there's wind, rain, or fireworks. She's terrified of pretty much everything, and she doesn't really do very many tricks, with the exception of being unbearable adorable and having breath like death.

Seriously, her breath can knock you down. It was really sad, actually, she had some rotten teeth removed a while back and when she came home she was more playful and affectionate than she's been in years. Also, she ate more than she had been in the months before. :( She nearly died when she was a puppy because we couldn't get her to eat and she went into shock. When she got the aforementioned teeth removed, she actually died on the table and had to be resuscitated. She's still going strong, now though, although she gets really stiff and sore in the mornings.

Click here for the full 800x600 image.

This is Buster. He's a year younger. While Katie is really mouthy, and yaps all the time, Buster is really laid back. He's more of a momma's dog, but we're good buddies. When he was little, he would have liked nothing more than to cuddle up with Katie, but she would have nothing to do with that, so he cuddled up with me. :3 He's probably near sighted and is all around fairly dense, but in a loveable way. He can high five! (I actually have a friend who has mild Tourette's and OCD, and he refuses to high five anyone except for Buster).

Additional Pics!

He had to have surgery on both rear knees a while ago.

From front to back, that's Smudge, Gidget, and Boomer. Smudge is 16 years old and about 2X the size of the other cats. Gidget and Boomer are shelter kitties we picked up as 3 month olds in December of last year.

Thanks to PI for helping me keep Smudge alive when he got sick last year after the kittens were introduced to our home. He was really, really sick for some time and had to be force-fed to keep him alive.

Smudge will still play fetch with paper balls, though not for nearly as long as he used to. Gidget and Boomer are typical kittens. Gidget talks more than any cat I've ever had and more than any type of cat I've ever seen other than Siamese. It's constant chirping and trilling and meowing. She's a good lap cat as well.

I got her from a shelter when she was seven weeks old and she turned out to be best.cat.evar. She has a soft spot for boxes, bags and plastic and seems to have been taught how to open zips on bags to climb in. She is pretty good at Prince of Persia style wall-running, thereby making the most out of our limited space, and enjoys bullying me before I go to sleep. My stern German-speaking girlfriend taught her to sit when told to "Sitz!" for a treat, a feat I've never seen in a cat before.

I love you, Shepard. I always have. I want to understand what this is between us... and make it real.
I left home to come back to school less than a week ago, and of course during that time my parents got a new dog! I'm so sad I haven't gotten to meet him yet! His name is Stretch, he's a Basset Hound/Corgi or something along those lines, and they rescued him from the APL. Apparently we were lucky to get him - another family adopted him, but their daughter had a severe allergic reaction so they had to give him up. But yay, he's ours now!

He apparently fell asleep on mom's lap last night. The cat is still suspicious and jealous that he doesn't get 100% of their attention anymore, but he'll get over it, haha. He's totally spoiled but such a friendly cat! :3:

This is Juliet, my new rough collie puppy! Her CKC title is pending.

Juliet turned out to be one of the best looking in her litter, and the breeder asked me whether or not I'd consider keeping her intact to show. I've already expressed my desire not to breed her, but as the champion title would look good for my breeder's kennel, I'm going to try my hand at a couple dog shows.

My primary goals for her are companionship and obedience. She starts her puppy classes on September 10th, although we've already done some clicker training at home. We're sitting at a total of 0 house accidents, and she already sleeps for a solid 8 hours in her crate.

She's cute and everything, but I'm really excited to have a full-grown rough collie.

Disturbingly delicious.
Am I in here to post pictures of my own pets? No. No I am not. I am in here to post pictures of MY PARENTS' NEW DOG WOOOOOOO!

My parents are physically active, financially well-off empty nesters who mostly prefer to stay at home, with the exception of a couple of trips per year. "Home" is located directly on Lake Michigan, with about 80 acres of woods in back. Anyway, when my sister and her cat moved out, they got kind of bummed out about not having anyone but one another there to greet them when they got home.

Solution: golden retriever!

They were approved to adopt through a rescue (GRROW), but there's a very long waiting list, so we were all keeping our eyes open for other possibilities.

On Saturday, this lovely five-year-old girl came up on Craigslist:

Her owners had to move to an apartment (I think in a retirement complex?) and couldn't keep her. Her likes include swimming, other dogs, swimming, kids, swimming, butt scritches, swimming, and her new non-lovely food.

Did I mention swimming?

My dog thinks he's a pretty lady.

Here's Koji!

He's been with us for almost a month now and came to us through the Texas Shiba Inu Rescue who contacted us when his old owners decided to give him up since they weren't home enough. He's about a year and a half old and was one of the CUTEST puppies. He's so far been very friendly and likes to meet new people and dogs and will need a nail trim soon. :ohdear:

His hobbies include making a mess on my floor with pieces of a pig's ear, pretending to not hear us, and shedding lightly for the time being. He also has a mission to destroy anything that squeaks and likes to sleep under our coffee table.

He's not amused when I laugh at him for doing this.

He also likes looking out on the huge balcony, not necessarily going out there, though.

He also likes to drive me crazy by running through the vertical blinds, playing by trying to mouth our knees, and thinks he's smarter than us but always gets caught in the act. But he already wags and gets excited when we come home and let him out of his crate in the morning and loves his long walkies and trips to the park. Other than that he's a lump on my floor. A shedding, farting, sighing lump.

P.S.: We need to start that primitive breeds thread. :3:
