It's pretty funny how he points to the contact page to see a hi-rez pic as to show that it, in fact, is not a flipped negative! Hah.

Attention: everyone with a camera, amateur or pro. Please join us on Sunday, May 2, at 15:00 (U.T.C./G.M.T.), as thousands of photographers simultaneously record “A Moment in Time.” The idea is to create an international mosaic, an astonishingly varied gallery of images that are cemented together by the common element of time.

Yea it's great as a demo of what's to come. As of now the size of the end result is only suitable for the web, not even for a portfolio, just Facebook and the like. If they can get a hold of a digital large format sensor, then the resulting image will be more useful.

This is a pretty cool exhibit. X-ray like images - technology is deconsctructed, each piece painted white, then reconstructed and shot at various stages of reconstruction.

Thirding yes because even with film, the film is processed and can be processed with different chemicals/temp ratios to give a different look.

I don't agree with some of what he says, but this makes sense to me:

Don't buy "obsolete" cameras.
Sometimes if you can't afford the latest and greatest then it's ok to buy the previous gen camera. Now, I'm not saying instead of buying T2i you should buy an XT, because that is a pretty bad decision. I agree with him in the sense that if you can't afford to buy the 5dmk2, you can buy the 5mk1 for like less than half the price, and that's still an amazing camera.

Me:

If it needs an explanation as to "why it looks good", maybe it's not?

Were they perhaps looking for a Flickr-type critique? That would explain that.

Quite a few people (6?) have asked me to see the photos after shooting them with film, I don't mind it all and find it pretty funny. When they ask, I hold the back of the camera to them and show them the little film box strip in its holder. (in a joking non-rear end in a top hat way of course).
