We got our male Guinea pig neutered. Does it really take 8 weeks for him not be fertile anymore ? We have two other female pigs who he lives next to in a divided cage

You can keep them next to each other in separate cages. They don’t seem to mind it too much and still talk to each other

Neutering males helps them when they get older as it prevents infections in their butt area
