I want to say that this picture is something cute, like what my 5 year old nephew would draw after watching his favorite movie, Toy Story. "Tee hee!" he'd say. "Isn't that funny? I hate tickles." And then he'd eat a cookie and take a nap. But I know better than that. That is somebody's fetish.

"Panel's 1 and 2: Fry woke up to the sound of Baby Bart screaming and Crying in the middle of the night. Fry heads over to the baby, holds him in his arms, and sings him a lullaby which this time is his own rendition of Zelda's theme from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In Fry's Rendition, which includes lyrics, the lyrics allude to how much he cares for Bart thinking of him as a brother. Panel 3: Bart has calmed down and is sleeping in his crib again. P.S. Fry is not fondling Bart's Butt. He's just trying to hold him." + +

I discovered that the whole "not human character made human" thing is called "gijinka" (I think) and it's apparently a Thing. When it's not being creepily sexual it's actually pretty neat, as far as taking the characteristics of a character and reinterpreting them in human form. Such as this one, which is about as far from the generic anime TITS N' rear end versions above as you can get. Also, that new X-Men movie has two dudes with a close friendship in it, you can bet there's already a poo poo ton of slash out there. This one is kind of funny until you realize it was drawn by that artist who draws nothing but WWII leaders.

Pick posted:What? Phobs draws tons of different stuff. I don't think she's drawn anything but Thor art for like a month. Yeah, I snagged the First Class image off of tumblr, so I went to go check her (his?) Deviantart, and I'm glad to see she's branched out more. I really enjoy her style. But the VAST majority of her art is WWII leaders and nazi men with tiiiiny little mustaches.

Pick posted:Huh, got me there. I was just going off what other people had said. Anyway, Phobs is really, really loving amazing. It's also nice to see someone stick with traditional media in this day and age (not exclusively, of course, but a lot). And not just one traditional medium--ink washes, pencil, pen, colored pencil, the works. Frankly, I'm sick to death of super-shiny, hyper-smooth digital art; I think it lacks tooth. Phobs is a great antidote to that. No, like I said, I really enjoy Phob's style. The fixation with Nazis is a little strange, but I'll concede that even if all he drew was Himmler making eyes at Hitler, he'd still be a great artist. I also love it when he writes in broken English. Anyways, I'm not bashing his artistic skill, just his choice of subject, which isn't bad, just kind of strange. Goddamn. But yeah, there is MUCH worse out there than Phobs' nazis. Evidence, Green M&M with boobs.

Gutcruncher posted:Heres another dose of amazingness! Man, I know this looks pretty lame, but this would have absolutely enthralled me at the age that I watched Powerpuff Girls. How old is the artist? If they're, like, 11 or 12, then this is actually pretty good. I mean it's not the most technically skilled or anything, but it's not terrible, and at least the characters actually look like the characters, and Bubbles isn't an anime abomination squeezing her DD breasts into a pleather monokini. Which I'm sure exists, somewhere.

Genderswapped My Little Pony gijinka?? Surprisingly not as terrible as you would think! Another MLP thing, her artist comment said this was from an episode where they're all kids. And finally, which I think qualifies for most strange, art supply gijinka "H and B(/coal) pencil twins + big sister Ink, Watercolor, Open Canvas and Photoshop bros, Crayon and Color Pencil bigsis, Silkscreen print, Oil and stepbrother Acrylics. NOT PICTURED: Oil's unpleasant reek of cigars and whiskey." I used to follow the artist, Emlan way back in the day. She doesn't do any creepy fetishy stuff (as far as I know) and I think she studied costume deisgn at one point? So her interest in gijinkas seems to be in costume/character design. It seems to me that Good Gijinka = dynamic character designs that retains the spirit of the character. Bad Gijinka = generic anime prettyboi made exclusively for yaoi shipping, includes cat ears and probably other anthro characteristics. See, Piglet and Eeyore above. Here are some "good" gijinkas I found of pokemon. (Artist said this one was Dialga. I don't know which one that is.)
