Poor guy. He must feel like he's between a rock (Rak) and a hard place. I hope he takes the time he needs to recover and maybe chooses a more sustainable pace for the foreseeable future afterwards; no matter how much he loves his art, it isn't worth his health.

Also, fast-pass spoilers, Paul is totally LoPoBia's son right?

That would be an interesting twist. I hadn't thought about it, but it could make sense.

I would agree with a lot of the criticisms leveraged at ToG in the last couple posts, particularly with this latest arc. However, I think ToG triumphs in how it has constructed its setting, to a far greater degree than most manwha/manga ever even attempt to. The Tower itself and how much foreshadowing SiU has done over the years, and how the pay off is slowly starting to be drip-fed to us now that family heads and other big players have started to show up, is really great, as someone who's been reading since nearly the beginning.

Discussion of the latest chapters that are only fan translated: what does Traumerei want from Baam?

Every once in awhile I check a random forum where I used to get low quality fastpass scans before I started buying them and there has been no news.

yeah, I read the fast pass chapters as they get unofficially translated and I never really post about it here in case most people are following the webtoon. today's chapter hasn't gotten translated yet but from the raws, it looks like it might move the plot forward in interesting ways

shockingly good chapter. It was pretty much a given that Gustang's motivation was his daughter. I guess the FH all sealed their memories regarding what happened with V, Baam and Arlen Grace. The glimpse of the FHs' past together was interesting as well.

It's a shame that the translations are pretty mediocre all around, even by the group doing the fast pass chapters. TOG has shockingly in-depth lore and if it had a high quality translation it would be a lot more interesting to digest, even if SiU stumbles with the pacing at times.

Definitely Traumerei, I can't see Gustang being built up since so early in the series (Workshop Battle?) only for his arc to culminate here. He's also still attached to mysteries like his daughter, Enne Zahard.

It's nice that the plot is moving along at a certain speed now, but god I hate the way SIU writes battles or portrays his own powerscaling. It just feels like it undermines the narrative hardcore to hype up the Slayers as gods within the Tower and FUG, and then have high rankers introduced a few chapters ago like Dumas simultaneously clown on two of them plus the manwha's sensei-figure in Jinsung. Yama is practically a joke at this point.

Man TOG has its wheels stuck in the mud despite the plot finally getting to a really interesting spot. It was awhile ago and I can't really remember, but the "wedding arc" that seemed to be planned where Baam was going to have to ensure his own freedom seems like SIU basically aborted it, or did I just get lost in the details of what happened somewhere?

Like really SIU none of us give a gently caress about the LPB Family Heads at this point. No one expects them to beat Dumas or cares to watch them get torn apart by chicken feet. We all want to see what's going on with Gustang, Traumerei and Baam and where all of this is headed a lot more than we want to see who's a rook and who's a knight in the "chess match." The games in TOG were nice once upon a time and set the manwha apart but at this point they either need to be more dynamic or take more clearly into consideration that the characters involved are increasingly capable of warping reality as they see fit.

If all of this is a build up to anything less than Traumerei dying or Enne being freed, or ideally both, then I might have to stop reading and come back when the manwha is over. That said, I'm glad the supporting cast are finally getting kinda pulled up to an appropriate level, not sure how that will happen with Khun but at least the Rak foreshadowing has been there for years.

How have you held on through most of the boring story arcs of the last few years since SiU's hiatus some time ago? We're finally getting somewhere with the plot where the FHs are intervening directly in the story and lore set up near the beginning of the manwha appears to be paying off.

That said, I don't blame you at all. If it required more of a commitment than 5-10 minutes of scrolling on a Sunday afternoon I probably wouldn't read it anymore either. As is I always think to myself that I should forget about it for a few months and try to come back when something might have happened.
