is there a known uh, origin comic for the "monster/dungeon gates opened on earth, random people got super powers, we throw the supers into the gates" genre?

it wasn't the first, but the one that everyone imitates is solo leveling.

I realize that I am literally months late, but thanks. That's more or less what I figured.

can anyone recommend a good action webtoon with 50+ chapters and isn't some variation of an isekai? Recently read through teenage mercenary and hero killer and after something else

Escort Warrior is some good Sad Old Killer action.

Idk if regression counts as some variation of isekai to you, but if it doesn't, Volcanic Age is decent.

I'm after something not particularly good but with 100+ chapters ideally 130+ I can just sit and smash through when I'm feeling bored and struggling to make a decision. I just read murim login and second Life ranker for examples as well as max level returner and max level newbie. Just something with decent action i can waste a day reading before I start my new job because I'm currently starting and quitting rimworld games but for whatever reason the first 2 series I named didn't have me do that

Volcanic Age
Nano Machine
Descent of the Demonic Master

Reaper is translating the webnovel as well. c29 of the webtoon is ~c57 in the WN.

Webtoon's been locking things to app for a while. example: the legendary fossil, something like 45 chapters on the app, 3 on web.

Sometimes they stuff completed series into only being readable on the mobile app.

Well hot drat, I had no idea there was an actual Manhwa thread!

Okay, I'm open to suggestions on any angle; I just need action. I'm not great at keeping track of multi-layered plans between factions playing into each other's hands.

I do like:
  • Solo Leveling
  • A Returner's Magic Should be Special (Kinda lost me over the last 30 chapters)
  • Survival Story of a Sword King
  • Villains Are Destined to Die
  • I'm Only a Stepmother, but My Daughter Is Just So Cute!/ Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom
  • Get Schooled!
  • Study Group
  • Weak Hero
  • Lookism
  • Viral Hit
  • UnOrdinary
  • The Fabled Warrior

I'm kinda all over the place and I could be totally wrong about some things not being Manhwas just because they're on webtoon. My current 'I enjoy this but wish I had found it five years from now' series is Susuhara Is A Demon

not action, but based on Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom, A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom (tapas licensed) is a pretty good family/romance fantasy.

for action stuff:
Return of the Mad Demon (webtoon). Murim stuff. Very pretty, main character actually does come off like he deserves the mad demon title.
Nano Machine (webtoon, but app only). Pretty good murim action stuff once you accept the weird time travel nano machines.
Escort Warrior (unlicensed afaik). Some good Sad Old Killer comes out of retirement. It's a bit slow on getting into the action because of that, though.
Return to Player (webtoon). Constellation action stuff. I'm not going to lie this comic is a bit ugly, but ugly in a way I like.
Masters of Lightning Knives (tapas). Mysterious old martial arts master adopts an orphan.

I'd recommend SSS Class Revival Hunter too but that's been on indefinite season break for like a year or something so rip that.

I'm not really sure how to describe those types of manhwa though. I'm a sucker for a 'Whoops, I died, haha, silly me. Let's do that again' stories though. Reincarnation's dope, seeing people fix their lives and they all live happily ever after when they get a second shot at it is fun.

ahhh, i feel you

Mother's Contract Marriage (tapas) is one of those, seen from the perspective of the daughter very confused by her mother's sudden change of heart. Medieval europe aesthetic.
Fantasie of a Stepmother (tapas) also, about a stepmother who wasn't close with the kids after her husband died because she was learning how to manage the house in her first life, managing to bond with them this time. This one might be a little too busy with the politicking, but it's very good.
Sigrid (unlicensed) is about a knight who did a bunch of war crimes at the emperor's orders before being executed by him in her first life and this time actually like, makes friends who support and appreciate her instead of being completely obedient.

Yeah, Returner or Regressor are common keywords for the unfuck my life genre.

Unrelated, I guess I missed Cassmire getting licensed, so that was a good few chapters to catch up on.

Exit's That Way - lesbian drama about an actor and an assistant director. cw for some past abusive relationships.
Your Throne - villainess, non-transmigration. a villainess gets bodyswapped with the female lead saint.
The Exhausting Reality of Novel Transmigration - serial transmigrator ends up in the body of a villainess, and refuses to let her new younger sister be abused
Master Villainess the Invincible - transmigrates into the body of a murim story villainess, winds up being more of an action comic.
Cassmire: The Loyal Sword - villainess transmigration, decides to protect her sister at all costs. Becomes a master swordswoman, accidentally seduces all the male leads.

There are a ton of Korean comics about transmigrating into a novel/video game. Some of them even have male protagonists.

Mookhyang - Dark Lady? Kinda. Martial arts master gets isekai'd and turned into a girl.

Literally everyone who gets along with Dark calls him by male pronouns. I wouldn't describe that as a female protagonist.

Master Villainess the Invincible is the only wuxia comic with a female lead that comes immediately to mind.
