So, I picked up and marathoned through Shin Angyo Onshi when I stumbled across it, and I have to say, if you haven't read Shin Angyo Onshi, you need to read Shin Angyo Onshi. And I mean all of it, including the author notes at the end of the volumes and the gag panels with the author, editor, and artists. It is seriously, legitimately, a fantastic, astounding manhwa. On the subject of webcomics produced by webtoons, there is also The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn. If you like Hellboy, you're going to like this one.

I marathoned The Breaker Part 2: New Waves and...yeah, it's not as good as the original. Here's the things that are excellent about it: Elder Kwon, and that one page of Shioon saying that he's still got some time left before he turns to dust. Honorary mention of the Ghost Doctor calling out Chunwoo's bluff about blowing up the arena because he's so loving pissed his rival got killed he doesn't give a poo poo anymore. Just judging from New Waves, I won't bother keeping up with The Breaker part 3 until its finished and I can read it in its entirety, because seriously trying to follow this series as it came out must have been one of the most awful things I can imagine doing with your time. Someone earlier in the thread said that it was the way it was because it was setting up Part 3, and I agree with that wholeheartedly. But I think that's kind of lame too, a story should stand on its own without setting up the next part, and New Waves doesn't do a very good job at that. So here's my predictions for Part 3. Chunwoo's life basically sucks right now and it's probably not at all how he wanted things to go when he first set out to be a martial artist, so he's rigging the game so Shioon can kill him. I'm saying there's about a 50/50 chance that Chunwoo dies at the end, and if he does, there's a 50/50 chance that it'll be him either killing himself directly or indirectly, or Shioon doing it. I can't really say what might happen with any other character, but for those characters, I'm calling it as the endgame. Also why does the author keep bringing up Saehee when she serves next to no point, they completely ignore her existence until it's time for "uh oh, gotta give Shioon motivation."

Wrist Watch posted:I cannot loving stand the way Noblesse uses white space. It's the dumbest poo poo, if the author would put the panels closer together like a normal person chapters would probably be literally half as long. Tons of manhwa do this, and yes, it is insanely infuriating. Particularly for webtoons.com, since it takes a while to load each page and their background is white, so you never know if a page is just loading or if it's supposed to be that way.

I've just caught up on GoHS and I can't loving believe or predict where this plot is going to go. For a while there I was just like the commenters saying "Bring Mori back, you bitch" but I don't even care anymore, everything is just going so off the rails it's zooming through the Milky Way.

Annarasumnara, I think, just destroyed my soul, holy crap. It's one of the few I've read that have made me feel genuinely empty inside. Is God of Bath as good as this is?

Shin Amhaengosa is still the best manhwa I've read, yeah, but Annarasunara is really good.

http://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/noblesse/ep-447/viewer?title_no=87&episode_no=448 You know, I feel like Noblesse's best moments are nothing but these moments, and I love it every time.

If you were effectively a godlike being who has perhaps only once, maybe twice (Muzaka and Rai's brother) before in your life (against his brother, unless he gg,wp him too) been pushed to your limits, then I'd imagine you too would lack a discerning sense of danger.

I would legitimately be laughing and clapping like an American in a movie theater if Rai actually does die, but somehow transfers his powers to that human red head guy who uses them in his martial arts and the webcomic basically turns into The Breaker, but with vampires and werewolves.

God of Highschool is crazy pants and I suspect the author may have had a mental breakdown at some point because wow, this manhwa.

Just when I thought it was over, GoHS once again pulls the story in a completely new direction. I was actually loving livid after this latest chapter, but I love one of the comments: "I aim for this level of pettiness actually." It's so loving petty, and it's both great and makes me mad at the same time.

If I remember correctly, in Korean mythology if a fish manages to swim up a waterfall they become a dragon, an Imoogi. It represents Mori Hui's evolution into a free thinking, free willed entity and also the immense struggle of trying to get out from under the weight of his original's shadow.

The current situation in GoHS seems to be exactly as I thought it would. Daewi is head of a drastically weakened Nox and trying to find Mori while also opposing Mubong, Mira is still amnesiac and head of the homeless people, Soojin is also probably opposing Mubong for the same reasons as Daewi, and Ilpyo is also probably not on their side but can't do anything about it since he's head of a school now. I can't imagine how pissed Daewi must have been when he woke up and learned everything.

Yeah I marathon'd Season 1 and will probably start Season 2 in a bit. I've enjoyed what I've read thus far, I don't regret it. I'm a little confused by the mother though, for Yuta. So is she a clone of Kali, his real mom, or was she one of those Chaos tribe asuras that assimilated Kali's maternal feelings toward Yuta somehow for some reason? Like, was she made specifically for caring for him, or was she a separate entity before hand?

OK, I figured it was just author's mood versus the story's tone, but no, Asha is actually a bitch. It was hard to understand, because she's apparently a very popular character with the Korean fanbase, and in universe everyone fauns over her, but from the get-go she struck me as a bitch. Good thing it wasn't just my interpretation.

It's a plugin. I would do it, but just because the fan translated version (the one that uses the overlay) is more grammatically correct and sounds better in English. That said, the webtoon's translation actually isn't that bad, the point still gets across, which is remarkably better than some of their other stuff. EDIT: The guy, I'm certain it was Ytlaya, who said that it's basically a mystery manhwa is spot on. The author herself said it was a romance manhwa, but if so, it's a pretty hosed up and creepy one. I'm going to keep reading for the mystery, but man, none of these characters are going to end up happy by the end. Gologle fucked around with this message at 06:21 on Apr 27, 2017 |

I wouldn't quite call what she's been doing "sheltering". Anyway, I've finished Season 2. I'll come back to it in a year or two and see where Season 3 is, but right now I can already make some predictions, especially because the manhwa flat out shows you how it will end, plus the revelations revealed near the end of Season 2.

My interpretation over the deal with Kubera the series at the moment is that the four primeval gods have kind of taken on a big wager between themselves over the fate of the universe after the Cataclysm. Each of the major players in their interpersonal war have chosen certain champions to represent themselves and their interests. Asha is Vishnu's, Yuta is Kali's, who knows who Brahma's champion is, maybe Claude, and I don't know who Shiva might have chosen. Kubera is in on this too, because his actions in the Cataclysm have directly lead to this conflict. I'm pretty sure Ananta was never supposed to die, and his death means his immeasurable power is up for grabs to whoever wants it, so all these factions are vying against each other to get it for themselves. Kubera seems like he's trying to right his wrong and hand the power to Kubera Leez, who is probably the only person in the series right now, other than maybe Agni but I don't think Agni is interested, who can use that power for a purely beneficial purpose. There are still some major questions going on though, like Vishnu's whole motivations. Why is he doing the things he's doing? And I'm sure Kalavinka is tied up in his schemes, but in what way? And as for more short term predictions for Season 3, I fully expect Kasak to be dead at this point. It doesn't seem possible for him to be alive in the sura realm unless his dad came in to save him.

I feel kind of dumb, up until now I never questioned how and why Frankenstein was so strong. His Dark Spear literally absorbs the strength of what it devours to grow stronger. This means Frankenstein probably has a severely hosed up backstory beyond the little we've seen and know of.

Gosu is great. But there are apparently major spoilers for Yongbi, a prequel manga that Gosu is a spin-off of that takes place in the past that is only halfway translated and isn't up to the part where the spoilers in Gosu matter.

I like how even double cheating Maduke was still losing to Muzaka, so he had to triple cheat, only to finally get someone to say "ok, that's going too far, we're stepping in." Technically quadruple cheating, because Muzaka, like Rai, isn't even at his full power after their titanic clash thousands of years ago.

Even behind spoiler bars I didn't want to post that, because it's a relatively recent development. But yes, I know this is like the famous last words, but "it does get better." What originally drew me to the series was the humor, but the characters actually started to get me invested. I love the Chief and Naga, and the idea of a world where superheroes are more than just larger than life people who fight larger than life threats, they are actual public servants who perform everyday helpful activities more often than just fighting villains.

The reason why I couldn't get into The Gamer is actually for that reason, now that I think about it. I read a long ways in, and then I came to the realization "Oh, this comic is the webcomic equivalent of grinding in an MMO, and way too much time is spent doing explicitly that." I'm not going to read a comic devoted to watching a gamer literally grind his real life stats up when I could go do that in a game myself. They can't all be God of High School, that just randomly shifts gears every so often with little warning.

Is there anybody who doubts that the first elder is Rai's brother revealed to be alive this whole time? Why was Rai's brother even evil in the first place, I don't think we ever got anything about him other than those few pages of Rai confronting him.

Speaking of adult manhwa, until the site it was on got taken down because Lezhin (rightly, to be fair) doesn't like people translating and hosting their comics and not giving them a dime, I was reading Refrain Love purely for the plot, and not the porn. The protagonist starts off an rear end in a top hat who just got out of the army and went home to bang his girlfriend, one of many he's had in his life and treats as trophy objects. Only he discovers that he cannot orgasm, because every time he does he gets sent back in time to the morning of his military discharge. This begins the struggles and development of our main character, as he desperately looks for a way to break his curse, find who has done this to him, and maybe learn a few lessons along the way. It was fun, and funny, and I'm sad I never got to found out what happens to him, because I had reached the part where he was starting to turn into a good person.
