Granted he gets out again but he wasn't in control of that situation and that just kind of doesn't happen again. By the time it's time for the big fight the whole series built up to at most Baki's allowed to make him bleed before he gets his rear end beat. Yujiro is no longer the antagonist but Itagaki's At some point someone held a door closed and he couldn't open it. The idea of anything physically overpowering Yujiro Hanma feels baffling with where the series has gone nowadays.

Yeah. I feel like the raitai tournament was where the series' use of Baki changed. He got the sex power up, he uno reversed a fatal poison, and from that day forward he was basically on par with the series' heaviest hitters. To an extent where he rarely fights unless it's The pivotal fight of an arc.
