This episode was so beautiful and fun it made me want to cry. This show is great to have coming off of Shirobako, and it's not at all weaker for using the high school setting.

the dynamic Reina and Kumiko have is so good. it's really a shame that Katou got rejected and decided being cheerleader was a good idea. i don't want her going through that or the ensuing non-band drama

i think the cute Natsuki/Kumiko scene eased the confirmation that Reina is into Taki. anyway i definitely liked the episode, didn't think it was boring. just evocative of one of the earlier episodes where the band kids are being little shits, which makes it a bit frustrating to watch.

yeah the show has only characterized Yuko with "likes and admires Kaori" so it's hard for me to dislike her even if i hate what she does. there's obviously more to her, though we're not really getting it. what bothers me more about her audition stink is how it's really unfair to Kaori, which i'm glad they made her acknowledge even if it couldn't convince her to give it up.
