i mean it plays out like an animated prestige drama or something, so some normies will like it because there's nothing to offend their "moral sensibilities." but it's still pretty niche in subject and focused on Japanese culture so it doesn't feel like an easy fit with shows that more blatantly appeal to normies.

also the first osomatsu volume has sold 100.000 copies. this makes it the 3rd best selling anime series dvd/blu ray ever (1st evangelion, 2nd whatever the world of golden eggs is). this number isn't series total, but for 1 dvd/blu ray

Oh boy, happened to check if the Boy and the Beast Blu-ray was out yet in Japan and it came out yesterday!! Hopefully gonna mean we get some fansubs in the near future. Usually takes a week or so for someone to step up.

My normie pick of the season is My Hero Academia. I think enough mainstream watchers were turned off from the change in direction in Stardust Crusaders that Part 4's probably gonna turn more people off, especially with how episodic it is. Meanwhile, My Hero Academia is coming on the toes of One Punch Man, and the people want superheroes. They're both going to be great though.
